Pence praises FOTF on 40th anniv., lifts up life
Vice President Mike Pence spoke at a special chapel service held to commemorate those who have served with the ministry over the past four decades, and he personally thanked Focus on the Family for the impact it has had on his own family over the years.
“The truth is that Focus on the Family has been a force in American families – a force for good for the past 40 years,” Pence proclaimed. “Millions of families like mine are indebted to your work. And let me assure you that there’s one other family that’s truly grateful for the work of this ministry – and I promise you, Focus on the Family, you have an unwavering ally in President Donald Trump.”
The vice president explained that Trump stands up without apology for religious freedom and stands with those persecuted for their faith. He also said that the president stands without apology for the most vulnerable in our society – including the unborn.
Pence also touted legislation recently signed by Trump that empowers states to withhold funding from abortion providers.
“And later this summer, when we repeal and replace ObamaCare, we’re going to defund Planned Parenthood – once and for all,” the staunch pro-life leader from Indian promised.
Pence concluded by noting that he and the president are “very supportive” of the Senate Health Care measure and he urged support from the public to get the bill across the finish line.
