Question: Hello everyone, I may be only 14, but I am trying to get right with GOD, so if anyone would like to preach to me…Please I need help I love the Lord, I do…if anyone will take me up on my request then I would really appreciate it!
Answer: God loves us and sent His one and only Son to this earth to speak to us about how to get right with God. In the Bible there is the story of a religious leader by the name of Nicodemus, who had similar questions to what you have. One night he went to Jesus and said to Him, “Rabbi (that means teacher), we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs (miracles) that you do unless God is with him.
Jesus answered and said to him, ‘Most assuredly (this is really true!), I say to you, unless one is born again, he (she) cannot see the kingdom of God (go to heaven). Nicodemus said to Him, ‘How can a man (woman) be born when he (she) is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born? (I’m not sure here if he is on the level or just not sure what to answer when Jesus talked about being born again, which was something he wasn’t aware of.)
Jesus answered, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water (natural birth, angels can’t get saved just people) and the Spirit (this means the Holy Spirit has to do the miracle of the ‘new birth’ in our lives), he (she) cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. (We have a body that is physical, and an invisible part of us called the spirit.
In order to go to heaven, our spirit [the real us that no one can see except God] has to be born over again in such a way that it is right with God. When we are born into the world the first time, the Bible says we are born with a sin nature [we inherit this from our parents], and it doesn’t take long for this sin nature to show itself. When we are born again of the Spirit of God, our invisible self takes on God’s nature, and the Bible says in another place, we become a new creation.
As Jesus kept speaking to Nicodemus He went on to say, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten (one and only) Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God” (John 3: 16-18).
God is a God of Love, but He is also a God of justice, so He has to punish every sin that enters His universe. That is why He made a way for us to be right with God by sending Jesus to this earth to die on the cross for our sins. He took our punishment for every sin we have ever committed, or will ever commit. If we tell God we are sorry for our sins, and ask God to forgive us for them, and invite Jesus into our invisible self called our spirit, He will come into us by His Holy Spirit and save us. He will make us right with God and we will become children of God.
John 1:12 says, “But as many as received Him [Jesus], to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood [just a natural birth like we talked about earlier], nor of the will of the flesh [just that natural birth only], nor of the will of man [like every person is born], but of God. This means that we have a choice in the matter.
Anyone could create a robot that would have to respond when we told it to, but God made us special in the sense that we have a will or “decider” in us. We can respond to God’s love, or we can shun Him, the choice is ours [yours]. The only thing is if we do not choose to have Christ take our punishment for sin, we have to take it for ourselves. The Bible says if we do not choose the pardon He offers free, we must pay our own debt of sin. This also means that we have to be forever separated from God.
The angels did have a choice at one time, and they too were confirmed in their choice. That is why we have holy angels, and fallen angels. As people we still have a chance to make our choice as long as we are alive. However, no one knows how long he/she will live. Jesus says, now is the day of Salvation, what will you do with Jesus? Will you receive Him as your personal Lord (God) and Savior right now? He loves you and died for you, what will your answer be to Him?
If you want to be right with God, right now, just pray in your heart to God a prayer something like this: “God I know I am a sinner, I have done bad things, I repent of my sins, I believe that Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary, I believe He died on the cross to save me from my sins so I could be right with God the Father. I also believe that Jesus came alive again the third day. Right now I invite the Lord Jesus Christ to come into my life [the real me, the invisible me] and save me. I love you God! In Jesus name I pray, amen.”
God bless you,
