The Primates' Jamboree
--Author Unknown-revised
by Gary & Marlene Panell |
The primates one day had a big jamboree,
Their leader sat in front of the tallest coconut
tree
And said with a chuckle, "My good fellow primates,
If you want a good laugh, just hear what man
states,
Some teachers of men say that evolution is real cool,
And are training each youngster to grow up a
fool,
The kids all run wild and never show respect,
Living a life style any Ape would reject.
No well-mannered primate dictates to his teacher,
Shoots at the police officer or beats up the
preacher.
Aborts a baby, or murders with a gun,
And then laughs and says, 'We're just having
fun!'
Primates, my friends, have RESPECT FOR EACH OTHER
We hand out no sass to our father or mother.
The picture I've painted you'll agree is quite sad.
But listen, my brothers and sisters, I'm boiling
mad!
For some men are teaching, (those who think they're so great!)
That the Creature Called Man was at one
time a primate.
An ape just like us, and what's more, if you please,
He claims that at one time he swung through
the trees.
Fellow primates, I think this is going too far.
We don't envy their home, their wealth, or their
car.
But when they will spread such a horrible rumor
It's time for all primates to lose their good
humor.
So, come, you must help me prepare a big sign,
Protesting that man's no descendant of mine.
If evolution is true, then friends, we are sunk,
For I'd sooner be father to weasel or skunk!" |
