According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in 2016 they assisted law enforcement and families with more than 20,500 cases of missing children. Earlier this week in San Francisco, two meat workers saved the day when they caught and tackled a child snatcher at San Francisco’s Ferry building, a highly trafficked tourist filled specialty market. Thanks to the bravery of these men and quick reaction, one child less falls into the hands of an abductor.

Faithwire reports that when the two meat company employees spotted an unidentified woman attempting to take a 2-year-old toddler from a tourist, they immediately ran out of their store and sprung into action to stop the suspect from getting away after her attempts to grab the child failed. The two men, whose names have not been publicly shared, are clearly heroes for going after the mentally ill homeless woman after she decided to flee from the scene.

San Francisco police Capt. Jack Hart told KTVU the mother of the toddler was picking her son up from the ground, when a homeless woman attempted to snatch the child and argue with her. As the homeless woman attempted to back away and run from the scene, the two men came to tackle her to the ground and hold her there until police arrived. Tanya Davis, who was visiting from Sacramento and witnessed the snatch attempt, said, there was screaming involved and “The little boy was crying [and] emotions were high.”

“…The suspect kept saying that was his or her son,” Davis added.

The alleged kidnapper associated with the attempted child snatch is said to be homeless and was taken into police custody. San Francisco has the highest homeless population in the Bay Area, ABC 7 news reported last year.
