(TRUNEWS) U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents must now release illegal immigrants.

The new directive also stops agents from tracking migrants or ordering them to appear at deportation hearings.  One agent testified the new order basically rolls out the welcome mat for people to come in.

The Washington Examiner reported the president of the National Border Patrol Council, Brandon Judd believes border laws may as well be abolished.

Judd said the shift in policy began during the Obama administration, because they were embarrassed most illegals don’t appear in court when ordered to do so. The only requirement is for a person to claim they have been in the U.S. since January 2014. No proof necessary.

The testimony was heard before the House Judiciary Committee subcommittee for immigration.

He also told them drug cartels bring unaccompanied children into Texas to serve as a distraction.

“Why did the cartels drive them to the middle of the desert and then have them cross over the Rio Grande only to surrender to the first Border Patrol agent they came across? The reason is that it completely tied up our manpower and allowed the cartels to smuggle whatever they wanted across our border,” said Judd.

The problem has become so big, the U.S. has difficulty housing the minors, as reported by TRUNEWS.

Meanwhile, some governors are taking matters into their own hands.  Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed a law recently to make it unlawful to house illegal aliens.

On Thursday, the Florida House furthered a bill that would permit Gov. Rick Scott to use the military against immigrants, according to Miami New Times.   It will let Scott ban illegals from any country he feels is dangerous and prevent them from receiving state assistance.

Governors of 30 states have asked the Obama Administration for information regarding incoming refugees, but there has been no response.
