Rios: Gotta go with Gingrich in Fox duel
In discussing the Trump campaign’s struggles, Fox News’ Megyn Kelly labeled the candidate, which drew the ire of guest Newt Gingrich.
“If Trump is a sexual predator,” Kelly began, “that is-“
“He’s not a sexual predator,” Gingrich shot back. “You can’t say that. You cannot defend that statement. I’m sick and tired of people like you using language that’s inflammatory. That’s not true.”
Gingrich then went on to challenge Kelly to call potential First Husband Bill Clinton the same thing, which she did not do.
Sandy Rios, host of American Family Radio’s “Sandy Rios in the Morning” radio program, says she sides with Gingrich on this one.
“I thought Newt Gingrich was actually within his rights to challenge her the way he did,” Rios says, “and I actually agree with him.”
At least 11 women have recently come forward and accused Donald Trump of unwanted sexual contact.
Trump denies those allegations.
Meanwhile, at least five women have accused Bill Clinton of the same – and even rape – and the former president denies the worst accusations.
The heated exchange earned some ink at The New York Times, which called it “bizarre” and claimed Gingrich had “baited” Kelly in the interview. The Times also misspelled Kelly’s first name in the original story.
Rios suspects there’s likely some bias involved and suggests Kelly is not a conservative and likely supports Clinton’s candidacy for president.
The Fox interview didn’t end very well, either.
“We’re going to have to leave it at that,” Kelly concluded, “and you can take your anger issues and spend some time working on them, Mr. Speaker.”
