It’s obvious that radical homosexual groups aren’t happy that Donald Trump has thus far chosen not to celebrate June as “LGBT Pride Month” with an official proclamation, like Barack Obama did for several years. LGBT advocacy groups, while not surprised, are calling it “deeply disappointing.”

The White House website shows that on the last day of May, Trump issued five separate proclamations recognizing June as National Caribbean-American Heritage Month, African-American Music Appreciation Month, National Homeownership Month, Great Outdoors Month, and National Ocean Month – but nothing about homosexual or transgender “pride.”

“The president deserves praise for not issuing a presidential proclamation, which is a great honor, for what amounts to a special-interest, activist faction,” says Elaine Donnelly, president of the Center for Military Readiness. “They have gotten used to having special privileges in the Obama administration. But President Trump has not gone along with that – and we are very grateful.”

She also points out the president’s decision is consistent with the statement that’s been in the Republican National Platform for a number of cycles, saying the Department of Defense should not be used for special-interest demonstrations.

While her group has urged the Trump administration to discontinue “LGBT Pride” events in the White House and the Pentagon, Donnelly says it’s unfortunate that there are some plans for unofficial military celebrations honoring that lifestyle.

In a related story, Politico chastises Trump for failing to issue a proclamation, saying “June is historically recognized as LGBT Pride Month.” Obama had done so via presidential proclamation every year since 2011. In contrast, marriage had been recognized as between one man and one woman for centuries – a fact that homosexual activists conveniently ignored in their quest to normalize “gay marriage.”

Dealing with aftershocks

Matt Barber, constitutional attorney and founder of Barbwire.com, is hopeful Trump will stick to his guns and won’t issue the proclamation. He recalls that when Obama was in the Oval Office, the White House would often be lit with rainbow colors to celebrate LGBT Pride Month – and then contrasts it with what he has seen since Trump took over.

“We had a president in Obama who would issue these proclamations in support of [LGBT Pride Month] – and then you have President Trump, who alternatively would light up the White House in blue in order to support our law enforcement officers and those who have given their lives and put their lives on the line,” he tells OneNewsNow.

But Barber contends Trump needs to go further and instruct agencies under his charge – the State Department, for example – not to support the homosexual agenda. That reminds him of another incident during the Obama years: American embassies flying the rainbow flag in nations where it is an affront to their values.

“This LGBT nonsense,” Barber says, “has been so marbled through and ingrained in the deep state with so many Obama-appointed and -hired officials still within high positions of power within the federal government, [I think] we’re still seeing … the aftershocks of the Obama administration.”

Barber has stated before that Obama’s chief export was immorality. President Trump, he says, needs to reverse that.
