Trump and wife Melania

At the half-way mark of Donald Trump’s presidency, fashion magazines and other media outlets are ignoring one of the world’s most powerful, intelligent and beautiful women in the world simply because she has the last name Trump.

Go on and Google “Michelle Obama cover” and you get dozens of magazine covers with the likeness of the former First Lady, each one trying to outdo the next in praise of her causes, her outfits or her beauty.

Then go Google “Melania Trump cover” and you get basically two: a Spanish language version of Vanity Fair, which wrote under her picture how miserable she is as First Lady.

Adams

Cathy Adams of Eagle Forum calls it Trump Derangement Syndrome by association because the First Lady is suffering from the anger directed at her hated husband ever since he defeated Hillary Clinton.

“I am seeing, even today checking out of grocery stores, Michelle Obama on magazine covers,” she observes, “and yet we have a high fashion model, who is the current First Lady of the United States, and there is a void.”

Doreen Denny of Concerned Women for America says what press the First Lady has gotten has been petty and irresponsible, such as criticizing the Christmas décor at the White House.

“These are times—like Christmas decorations, celebrations of season—when we should all join together and celebrate something positive and good,” she says.

She adds that the treatment of Melania is representative of a more general media bias.

“The hypocrisy of the mainstream news media in covering women generally is staggering,” she observes. “Time and again we see how they elevate voices that criticize and ostracize conservative women but then they celebrate women with an activist agenda.” AddThis Sharing ButtonsShare to FacebookFacebook3Share to TwitterTwitterShare to EmailEmailShare to MoreMore4
