Wednesday, December 4, 2019 | Chris Woodward (OneNewsNow.com) A state-by-state review of Obamacare plans shows many now cover abortion than in years past.
Patrina Mosley of the Family Research Council says the conservative organization examined the health insurance plans offered by every state.
“And unfortunately,” she told the “Washington Watch” program, “we now have more plans than ever that are covering abortion.”
A total of 777 plans are covering abortion out of 1,120 plans that are offered on the so-called exchanges.
“And these are from the states that have not opted out of abortion coverage,” she advised.
Twenty-six states have opted out of abortion coverage but Mosley said they are still subsidizing abortion.
“When you pay federal taxes in your state, those taxes still go to someone else’s state to pay for their enrollment and for those abortion plans,” she continued. “So we do have those states that have legislatively mandated that they will not cover abortion, which is great, but this is the sixth time we’ve done this investigation on Obamacare and we still have abortion being considered as health care.”
The Charlotte Lozier Institute, the research and education arm of the Susan B. Anthony List, partnered with FRC for the investigation.
Alaska, California, Hawaii, Maine, Maryland, New York, Vermont, and the District of offer abortion plans.
