hydroxychloroquine tabletsThe head of a pro-Israel ministry is praising an Israeli pharmaceutical company for pledging to donate ten million tablets of a potential coronavirus remedy to the United States.

Israel-based Teva Pharmaceutical announced that the medication hydroxychloroquine* should begin being delivered to U.S. hospitals within weeks – six million by the end of the month, with another four million in mid-April. The drug is commonly used to treat malaria, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis. But there is growing evidence that chloroquine, which has been around for decades, could help patients afflicted with the COVID-19 virus.

A spokesman for Teva says the company is committed to supplying as many tablets as possible – at no cost. “Immediately upon learning of the potential benefit of hydroxychloroquine, Teva began to assess supply and to urgently acquire additional ingredients to make more product while arranging for all of what we had to be distributed immediately,” says Brendan O’Grady.

Laurie Cardoza-Moore is founder of Proclaiming Justice to the Nations. She describes Teva’s move as yet another example of God’s promise that the tiny nation of Israel and its people would be a blessing to all the nations of the world.

“And as the whole world is panicking and as we see many people are dying, like we see happening in Italy, it is just absolutely amazing that … Israel [comes] to the rescue, as they always do,” she tells OneNewsNow. “This is another example of this important relationship how Israel is a blessing to the nations of the world, as God said that they would be.”

And Cardoza-Moore says not only is Israel the source of this well-known medication, it is also the home of Migal Research Institute, which is working on a coronavirus vaccine for humans. Migal mostly focuses its research on agricultural and animals – and for the past four years has been working on developing a vaccine for coronavirus in chickens.
