Ryan has power and polls but not ALIPAC

Paul Ryan (R-Wisconsin)House Speaker Paul Ryan is expected to win today’s Wisconsin primary despite his immigration views.

One thing is for certain. Rep. Paul Ryan does not want to follow in the footsteps of former House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, who lost in the Republican primary two years ago because his opponent was able to paint him as weak on immigration enforcement.

William Gheen, president of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC), worked to help unseat Cantor.

Gheen tells OneNewsNow he doubts Ryan has as much support as some polls and people indicate.

Gheen, William (ALIPAC)“If you just heard some bogus poll that says that Paul Ryan is invincible and fighting him is useless, that’s disinformation,” says Gheen. “That’s enemy propaganda.”

According to Gheen, internal polls for the Paul Nehlen campaign show that Paul Ryan’s support has collapsed from close to 70 percent in May to fewer than 50 percent. Gheen says he can understand why.

“[Ryan] is telling them that he’s for secure borders, which is a lie (and) he’s telling them that he wants to protect them from terrorism, which is a lie,” says Gheen. “The truth of the matter is Paul Ryan has undermined our borders by supporting illegal immigration, funding Obama’s executive amnesty orders, (and) funding Obama’s dangerous Muslim resettlement plan.”

ALIPAC is also focused on the GOP primary in Arizona, where it aims to help an Arizona physician defeat Senator John McCain later this month.
