The Louisiana Right to Life Foundation (LARTL) sent out a message for the pro-life community to support those who are served by – and those who serve with – PRCs in the Pelican State.

“They’re Flooded. Help!” LARTL exclaimed in an alert sent out to pro-life advocates, according to LifeSiteNews. “Can you help flooded, impacted PRCs?”

Widespread need to preserve the sanctity of human life

LARTL announced in a statement that at least two PRCs have succumbed to the Louisiana flood waters that triggered a state of emergency over much of the state – a disaster that has resulted in Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and his running mate, Mike Pence, to visit and distribute relief to those affected by the deluge.

The flood of epic proportions that killed at least 13 people, destroyed some 60,000 homes and resulted in at least 102,000 people seeking help, has inflicted damage on the state of Louisiana that hasn’t been rivaled by any act of nature in America for several years.

“[Louisiana’s flooding is] the worst natural disaster to strike the United States since Superstorm Sandy,” the Red Cross declared in a press release.

The two PRCs that have been flooded by the torrential rains are Baton Rouge’s Caring to Love Ministriesand the Family Resource Clinic.

LARTL Executive Director Benjamin Clapper is calling out to his organization’s pro-life supporters to help by providing donations so that the flooded centers can rebuild and continue serving the community.

“Our hearts go out to all those across Louisiana, and in our own LARTL family, suffering from the floodwaters,” Clapper expressed. “We pray for a quick recovery of your lives. The floods damaged the pro-life cause, as well.”

Pinpointing the need for those devoted to life

Even though nine other PRCs in the flooded areas have not yet reported any damage at their facilities, LARTL reports that many staff members and the families that they serve have been affected by the wide-scale flooding and need help. A listing of the nine has been provided.

“The centers in affected areas are Restoration House in Hammond; Women’s Life Ministries in Amite; the following PRCs in Baton Rouge: Pregnancy Problem Center, Woman’s New Life Center, Women’s Help Center, Catholic Community Services and St. Elizabeth Foundation; as well as A Pregnancy Center and The DesOrmeaux Foundation, both in Lafayette,” LifeSiteNews divulged, noting that the Woman’s New Life Centers in both Metairie and Baton Rouge are now accepting baby items to assist families who have fallen victim to the flood.

Supplies and personal assistance provided by Christian ministries and pro-life organizations have either already arrived or are on their way.

The Billy Graham Evangelistic Organization’s Samaritan’s Purse is calling for volunteers and donations to assist in its Louisiana flood relief effort, while Elijah Ministries has already arrived in Louisiana, where it is currently distributing much-needed supplies to those affected by the flood.
