Inflicting a leftist ‘moral imperative’ on America

 Wednesday, August 31, 2016

|Steve Jordahl (OneNewsNow.com)

polygamy illustrationA Christian worldview expert says liberal media outlets and left-leaning politicians are pulling out all the stops in their quest to impose their subjective agendas on the culture – all the while arguing it’s their moral imperative to do so.

For example, CNN recently selectively edited a Tweet from Donald Trump about Hillary Clinton, omitting the descriptor “crooked” when the network displayed the quote on the screen. That’s merely the latest in a string of examples of the mainstream media giving Clinton a pass while hammering Trump.

Kyle Drennen of Media Research Center says it’s unethical. “If you start getting into this game of, Well, we’re going to take out words that we don’t like – then why are you quoting someone if you’re not going to quote them accurately?” he asks.

And it’s not just the media. This week the White House said President Obama may ratify the Paris Climate Accords on his own – despite the fact that the U.S. Constitution mandates that international treaties must be approved by Congress.

Worldview expert Alex McFarland says the Left thinks their agenda is so important that they don’t have to follow the same moral, ethical, and legal constraints as others.

“It’s a very dangerous place,” he shares with OneNewsNow. “It’s what Benjamin Franklin warned about, that we would move from a unified republic to ‘dozens of squabbling factions.'”

McFarland points to the Black Lives Matter movement, built on some inaccurate stories of police brutality; and to President Obama making nuclear deals with terrorist nations – again without Congress.

“In our quest to legitimize every pathology and deviancy – from homosexual activity to transgenderism to believing that the Constitution gives a right to abort a baby – that’s not the pursuit of a higher good,” he laments. “That is merely the pursuit of my own personal subjective wants and desires.”

James 1:14-15 (NIV): “… Each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.”
