Her question: “This is good, [but] what about us women [that] are pastoring churches today, is it wrong, please tell me, thanks.”
Gary’s answer: Hello Pastor ————-, There are many women such as yourself that are pastors today, or who are preaching the Word of God. There is a balance here that should be in the Church. We know Scripture says in 1Timothy 2:11- “Let a woman learn in silence with all submission. 12 And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression. 15 Nevertheless she will be saved in childbearing if they continue in faith, love, and holiness, with self-control.”
We know that women are to be in subjection to the elders in the church, this is clear. By this I mean that, when there are men who are trained to teach the Word in the church the woman is to be in subjection to them. If you are pastoring now, then this may mean for you to move to another area where there are no men yet that are ready to teach, or at least let the men be in control, if they know the Word.
Philp had four evangelist daughters and they were evangelizing and you hear nothing to the contrary in Scripture. Acts 21:9 Now this man had four virgin daughters who prophesied. In the passage in Acts 2:16, also it says, “But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: 17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy…”
We see that in the last days, that we are living in, women would prophecy, which usually is preaching the Word. I visit in Kenya, Africa and we have Sisters in Christ there who preach. The main thing is to be willing to train men to the point that they can take your place, then you go on to another location that needs men trained to become leaders. I hope this helps, Brother Gary
As you get with family and friends remember the Scripture says, “Offer to God thanksgiving…” Psalms 50:14 Maybe it would be good to go around the table and do just that, Offer to God thanksgiving!
