The workshop is designed to engage “white-identified” people in a conversation about what they can do to “create a more equitable campus experience,” Julaine Appling, president of Wisconsin Family Council, tells OneNewsNow.

“This is just an abuse of the taxpayer dollars and, in my opinion, abuse of the parents who send their kids to these schools,” Appling says.

The Madison campus is home to approximately 43,000 students.

White Privilege 101 is being led by Khaled Ismail, social justice specialist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He previously served Northwestern University in the Offices of Social Justice Education, according to education watchdog EAGNews.

Appling predicts the workshop will brainwash students.

“To think that being white and having an opportunity to have an education, to get a good job, to own a home, has somehow made white people suspect, has made us anathema,” she says.

White Privilege 101 follows complaints from some conservative lawmakers about a similar-named course entitled “The Problem of Whiteness.”
