Leftists crash anti-Shariah rallies with violence

anti-shariah march and protesters June 2017The nationwide counterterrorism movement sweeping across the United States was met Saturday with numerous acts of violence – attacks that were waged by pro-Muslim and pro-immigration Leftist activists.

Besides the violence striking several of the 28 U.S. cities hosting the rallies, numerous counterterrorism speakers who opposed to the implementation of harsh Islamic law at this weekend’s events received death threats from liberal activists. Act for America (ACT) – a group consisting of 1,000 chapters and 400,000 members led by Brigitte Gabriel dedicated to keeping Sharia law out of the U.S. – organized the “March Against Shariah” to promote the enforcement of constitutional law and national security to deter more acts of violence and homegrown Islamic terrorism.

“This is a march against Shariah law and for human rights,” the patriotic group’s website states. “Our nation is built on the freedom of religion – a pillar of our democracy – which we must always respect, protect and honor. However, many aspects of Shariah law run contrary to basic human rights and are completely incompatible with our laws and our democratic values.”

Other reasons for keeping Shariah out of the U.S. include protecting vulnerable women and children from acts of violence at the hands of fellow Muslims.

“We, at ACT for America, are committed to protecting women and children from Shariah Law and its impact on Muslim women and children – including honor killing and female genital mutilation,” the statement continued. “We must ensure that every woman and child enjoy the protection afforded by the U.S. Constitution.”

Leftists silencing free speech

Three major uprisings marred key rallies held from coast to coast.

“The most reported violence was in Manhattan, the State Capitol in St. Paul and Seattle, where police were forced to use pepper spray to break up fights,” WND reported.

Islam-advocating counter-protesters stirred up consternation at the Manhattan anti-Shariah rally, where the New York Daily News reported that rally supporters were dwarfed by the uprisings.

“Although police kept the two groups separate most of the day, counter-protesters – who branded themselves as anti-fascists – crossed the street to confront the rally-goers, throwing jugs of rotten milk across the barrier that separated them,” WND added.

A retired union organizer from the Bronx, 66-year-old Eric Josephson, boasted about cowbells, drums and airhorns being used by fellow protesters to keep counter-terrorism speakers from being heard by attendees.

“We’re making so much noise to drown out the fact that they are furthering hate speech,” the far-Leftist Josephson explained. “I do not believe they have a right to a platform. They are planning murder and mayhem. This is to attempt to push back against Nazis and other extreme Right wingers, who are apparently protesting against a movement to impose Shariah law in the U.S. This is obvious horse manure. There is no such movement.”

Rotten milk and airhorns weren’t the only things rally supports had to contend with, said conservative journalist Lauren Southern, who noted that Leftist Manhattan protesters doused her with urine.

“Out of nowhere, liquid was splashed onto my face from one of the masked individuals in the crowd,” Southern explained to Bretibart News. “It got all in my eyes and over my face and totally reeked. The first two seconds were a little horrifying because I wasn’t sure if it was an acid attack.”

In Minnesota, where a large population of Islamic Somali refugees – including a number of jihadists – have been replanted, courtesy of the Obama administration, the number of protesters outnumbered the rally supporters, as the Star-Tribune reported the ACT event in St. Paul inside the Capitol rotunda that attracted 100 supporters triggered 300 counter-protesters congregating on the building’s outside steps.

“People on both sides held signs and listened to speakers,” WND noted. “Among the signs inside were messages that read, ‘Oppose Shariah law,’ ‘Shariah is jihad,’ ‘Islam is un-American,’ ‘End Muslim immigration,’ ‘Female genitalia matters … unless you’re antifa’ and ‘Deus vult!’ – Latin for God willing and a battle cry adopted by early Crusaders. Outside a sign read, ‘Shariah law doesn’t threaten America, but your hate does. Love your neighbor.’ The crowd chanted, ‘Our Muslim brothers are under attack. What do we do? Stand up, fight back.’”

The peaceful demonstrations came to an end, however, when the group opposed to Shariah law began to leave.

“Angry words, pushing and shoving followed on the Capitol steps, with state troopers intervening to separate the groups,” WND informed. “Officers’ attempt to escort the anti-Shariah group across the Capitol lawn failed when counter-protesters followed, with one breaking through and kicking a member of the anti-Shariah group. This was followed by more attacks when officers escorted the group through a building across the street from the Capitol. Upon exiting, another counter-protester initiated another fight. More troopers were called in to restore safety, and five or six people were placed in squad cars, according to local reports.”

Pro-Shariah law Leftists also showed up on the West Coast in Seattle, Washington – a Leftist city whose mayor considers it a so-called “sanctuary city” for criminal illegal aliens and Islamic refugees of all sorts – including potential jihadists.

“Large crowds converged on Seattle’s Pioneer square with bicycle-mounted police officers forming a thin blue line between the group,” the conservative news website mentioned in its report. “At one point, a man wearing what appeared to be a red Trump hat was attacked by the crowd. The assault was captured on video.”

Left vs. Right

Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) Spokeswoman Heidi Beirich, whose far-Left group supports Shariah law in the U.S., condemned ACT for America’s rallies.

“[ACT is disseminating] lies and fallacies about Muslims to spread fear about the religion,” Beirich argued, according to WND. “ACT demonizes all Muslims as terrorists who want to subvert the political system in this country.”

Countering SPLC’s claim, ACT insists it stands against bias targeting religion groups in America.

“[ACT is] proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with peaceful Western Muslims, as well as peaceful Muslims worldwide,” ACT states on its website. “ACT for America has never, and will never, tolerate any bias, discrimination, or violence against anyone, based on their religion, gender, race or political persuasion. Freedom to practice one’s religion in peace is afforded to each of us by the U.S. Constitution, and we will continue to defend it vigorously.”

According to the National Conference of State Legislatures, a handful of states already have legislation that does not permit foreign law in state courts, including Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Louisiana, Kansas, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Tennessee.

Other clashes

Approximately 60 pro-Shariah law protesters and 60 anti-Shariah law rally attendees also clashed in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where police had to step in between the two groups.

One counter-terrorism supporter, Steven R. Moore, who resides in Washington County, Pa., dispelled the Leftist’s claims that the rally was inciting hate, discrimination and intolerance.

“This is a march against Shariah, not Muslims,” Moore told The Washington Post. “We are not affiliated with any extremist groups. … Shariah is a barbaric system that the Islamic State is trying to impose in our country.”

In the Windy City, twice as many counter-protesters showed up to condemn the anti-Shariah rally.

“[A]bout 30 people demonstrated against Islamic law and in favor of President Trump, [but about 60 protested and shouted back,” NPR noted from a wire service report.

Denver, Colorado, also saw an equal number of pro-Shariah law protesters agitating the those attending the rally.

“Each side boasted about 150-to-175 people, [with four being arrested by law enforcement officers],” The Denver Post reported.

Never again in San Bernardino …

Another anti-Sharia law/pro-Trump rally held in San Bernardino, California, was held Saturday – about a year-and-a-half after the December 2015 jihadist attack unleashed in the workplace that killed over a dozen employees.

More than 500 anti-Sharia protesters attended a rally at the Inland Regional Center to stand against the spread of Shariah law in Southern California and across the U.S., according to the Los Angeles Times.

Many were spurred to support the rally to keep another terrorist attack from taking place in the area, where little was done to deter the jihadist husband and wife from orchestrating their massacre in the name of Islam.

The diverse group included many Latinos in the area who were ill-received Saturday by pro-Shariah Leftists.

“[The anti-Shariah attendees at the rally] were met by smaller groups of counter-demonstrators, many from so-called ‘Antifa’ groups,” Breitbart News reported. “San Bernardino Police Officers handled security without any major incidents, except a few scuffles on the Anitfa side.”

The co-founders of Latinos for Trump, Marco Gutierrez and Denise Ruiz, organized the event, with the former launching the group last year – just 13 years after he became a U.S. citizen.

“We’re here to defend our country, because our way of life is threatened now,” Gutierrez told Breitbart. “It’s the totalitarian idea that you’ll do this or else – reminds me of the fight in Mexico between the Catholics and the Masons –so we have some experience with this kind of tyranny.”

Unlike the mainstream media’s portrayal of all Hispanics being opposed to the enforcement of immigration laws, Gutierrez stands by President Donald Trump’s belief that law enforcement should uphold the law regarding illegal immigration.

“The media’s trying to make me decide whether or not my uncle who illegally immigrated to this culture should be deported, or whether my kids should be fed,” Gutierrez told Breitbart. “And I choose that my kids get fed first, and if my uncle didn’t take steps to get his legal status in order, then I’m sorry, you’re going to have to go.”
