Question: I would like to know what these particular dreams I sometimes have mean. I sometimes dream being intimate with my husband and I have always brushed it aside thinking it could be my subconscious. However, sometimes these dreams take a twist. I realize later that the person I thought I was being intimate with was not my husband but someone else. There are also a few time times that I have dreamt myself about to get married to someone else but then I would realize before waking up that it’s a very bad idea(coz I’m already married and in love with my husband) and then maybe change my mind about the ‘marriage’.
Answer: It is funny that you asked this, because I just had a silly dream. We don’t know why our minds do such things. It may be our stomach’s digesting food we ate just before we went to bed. It may be an attack of Satan. It may be our minds just putting bits and pieces together of one thing and another. Don’t let them cause you to spend time dwelling on them. If it were a dream from God, He would make that clear to us right away or in the future.
We do have sex drives that, I believe come into our minds, and sometimes these are temptations. Just like people hear voices, and then they go out and act on them, only to find out later that it was a demon that tempted them to do something wrong. Paul says: “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy-meditate on these things. 9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.” Phil. 4:8, 9
