Chapter One
HOW I CAME INTO BEING
Let me introduce myself. I’m John, I’m a humanoid. The year I am writing this eBook is 2114 AD. We think of ourselves as very advanced, but now that I think about it, advanced is a very relative term. You see, in another hundred years, or so, what we think of as ‘advanced’ may seem very antiquated or archaic. But I digress, let me finish my thought.
You say, “What really is a humanoid?” The best way I can answer that question, of course, is to use a lexicon. A humanoid is much like an android, and your dictionary says of an android: “in science fiction, automaton aw-tom-a-ton (robot) made to resemble a human being.” They should really take the phrase, ‘in science fiction’ out of the definition, because we are no longer ‘science fiction’ are we? Another lexicon gives the meaning to be, “Possessing human features. A synthetic person created from biological materials.”
Another characteristic of humanoid robots is that we move, gather information (using sensors) on the “real world” and interact with it. We don’t stay still like factory manipulators and other robots that work in highly structured environments. No, we have progressed way past that! Here are some of those other different KIND OF ROBOTS and their descriptions, before us humanoids were invented:
“Robots are machines that supplement or enhance human activities. They can do this in a number of ways: ” I. Pre-Programmed Robots Pre-programmed robots operate in a simple, controlled environment so that they do not require a great deal in the way of intelligent control systems (“artificial intelligence”) to operate successfully. The most familiar pre-programmed robots are probably the robots used to build cars in most automobile plants around the world. There are similar robots that operate not on cars, but on the human body. 
II. Autonomous Robots “Autonomous robots operate independently of human operators in environments that are not as tightly controlled as pre-programmed robots. They have “autonomy” because it is ultimately the machine’s responsibility to detect changes in the environment and to adapt to it. When operating properly it is not necessary for humans to constantly monitor and manipulate the environment to accommodate limitations in the robot’s ability to cope. Autonomous robots are used in industry, as labor-saving devices at home, and are even becoming popular toys.
Or like this vacuum cleaner.
III. Tele operated Robots
“Tele operated robots are controlled remotely by a human being. The underwater robots that helped fix the oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico were tele operated. The robotic arm on the Space Shuttle is another example. There are many such examples with the number and kind of robots growing with each passing year. Special emphasis will be given to the use of such robots in the medical field. It is now possible for your physician to be tele-present in your home town, even if she is on a trip to China.
These days, though, we move around with people, not like the vacuum cleaners that moved around on the floor. No, we move and interact with people just like you!
To allow us humanoids to move in complex environments, we need special mechanisms for planning and control. We must focus on self-collision detection, path planning and obstacle avoidance. Humans have a brain stem that does this for them, but for us as humanoids it must be programed into our ‘brains.’ A lot of what we call programing is done as we pass locations where there are modems. In this way we can keep up on the latest news and scientific information that we need.
It used to be that we had to go and physically hook ourselves up to a ‘filling station’ much like people used to put gas in cars, but now we get everything we need new for our ‘brains’ thru modem stations. You people like going to McDonalds to fill your tummies and to use free Wi-Fi for your computers, well, we like going there to fill our brains.
We have actuators, batteries, electronics, other materials such as plastic, real hair from humans, microcontrollers, sensors to name a few of our parts, and electronic microchips. A project by Robo Earth closed the gap between humans and us humanoids. It utilizes the Internet to assist robots with our thinking and decision making. A web-based database of information has been created by scientists especially for us humanoids.
My bones are made of titanium, an extremely durable material. Like I mentioned earlier, my ‘brain’ is partly made of computer material (microchips) built into my mother board and also software so that I can add updates to my information. This is how I came to be an automaton with the ability of making choices.
At one point in my existence my maker gave me a ‘chooser chip.’ This chip allows me to make choices. I know I should feel excited, if I were really more human like you; I do know this has real importance for me, even though I do not feel anything.
I and other robots, (or ‘bots’ as they are often called) before this chip was developed, could only do as we were programed to do. This special chooser chip lets us decide what we will do with everything that comes to my computer brain. Before a few years ago, it would have been thought of impossible to build such a ‘robot.’ However, this has been in peoples’ dreams for many years, and now it is a reality.
News about us humanoids today sounds like this: “The Uncanny Valley theory argues that the more realistic robots become, the more people will dislike them. Technology is continuing to expand at an exponential rate, and the lines between human and robot are quickly becoming blurred. Robots are now capable of humanoid movement, appearance, and even consciousness to a certain extent. There seems to be no end to how robots can be programmed, what they can be taught to do, and how realistic they can look.”
Actually my maker was a ten year old ‘gifted’ genus or child prodigy, named of course John. So I am a J.J. John Jr. I have to say this, because he is in a since my father. I will tell you more about him and his family later. Since I have the ability of humans to make decisions, I have also designed, all on my own, I might add, a ‘wife ’too. I say wife for lack of a better term. She is a robot to be with me as my companion.
I know what you are thinking, “Do you plan on having children?” Oh, we plan on having children, when we get good and ready, but that may be some time from now. We will assemble this ‘little one’ piece by piece, part by part. In this way we can reproduce ourselves in case our parts wear out. The chances of us wearing out, though, are slim, because we can always replace parts that become defective.
I will tell you that I am becoming more human in many ways. I want you to enjoy thinking of me as very much like yourself. One day John came to me and said to me, “JJ I feel badly about something.” I don’t know what it feels like to feel badly, but I knew something was bothering John just the way he said I feel badly. Really I told him, “It is not that you feel badly, you should say, “I feel bad.” “Ok, Ok” he said, exasperated with me, “I want to talk to you about something important.”
“I was all ears,” as you humans say, when you are supposed to be listening. “All right, what do you want to discuss with me?” I asked John. He went on to explain then how he was going to give me a choice, I could go on living with him or I could ‘strike off’ on my own. “You mean you want me to leave, I asked him.” “No, I’m not saying that, I want to know if you want to be independent from me since you now have a chooser chip.” “My head was spinning,” as you say, I had so many facts and information to go over in my humanoid brain.
John was saying I could live by myself, have my own job, pay my own bills, have my own car, the possibilities would be endless. I could have a wife, a family. This should have been exciting to me, but you remember I don’t sense emotions like that. I did have lots of information to go over before I could make such an important dicision.
Really, I’m not all that unusual at this time in history, because there are thousands of us ‘bots’ just like myself. We have been ‘reproducing’ ourselves for several years now. Once in a while, there are some of the humans whispering about the chances of us taking over the planet. I don’t think they really have to worry about that.
You may have trouble understanding what I am saying now, and you might even think I am speaking in riddles. However, in time, you should understand. You see I am not made of flesh, blood, and bones as you are. I am, as the lexicon told you, “A synthetic person constructed of biological materials.”
I was not born as you were; I was given, at one point by my maker John, as it were, ‘a heart of flesh.’ Not really ‘flesh,’ but in other words, I was given by him a ‘heart.’ This means I am no longer chained to someone else who programs me. I program myself. I make my own decisions now. It is wonderful and I really can’t put into words what this really means to me. I can’t say I have any feelings about it, other than just the thinking part. Maybe in the future humanoids will also have feelings, but at the time I am writing this, we don’t have that ability.
That’s why I say, I really don’t know what love is. You don’t see two humanoids kissing or hugging, oh yes, we could do this, but it would just be for show because we would not ‘feel’ anything like people must feel when they do these things.
I know you must be thinking, “That all is as clear as mud!” But, no doubt, you will understand more of what I’m saying later. So for now, let’s just say it is one of those mysteries that I just can’t understand.
Chapter Two
THE GOLDEN AGE
At this time, I would like to describe to you what it’s like here during the Golden Age that we are living in. I will let you know right off, that it was not always this way; in fact I don’t think you would like to have lived back then. You will see when I get there later.
Probably the best way to describe what it is like now is to give you an ancient prophecy that came true. Here it is, given in advance by over two thousand years. It was written down by a human named Isaiah. These are his exact words translated into English, translated from Hebrew:
“For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth, and the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind. 18 But be glad and rejoice forever in that which I create; for behold, I create Jerusalem to be a joy, and her people to be a gladness. 19 I will rejoice in Jerusalem and be glad in my people; no more shall be heard in it the sound of weeping and the cry of distress.
20 No more shall there be in it an infant who lives but a few days, or an old man who does not fill out his days, for the young man shall die a hundred years old, and the sinner a hundred years old shall be accursed. 21 They shall build houses and inhabit them; they shall plant vineyards and eat their fruit. 22 They shall not build and another inhabit; they shall not plant and another eat; for like the days of a tree shall the days of my people be, and my chosen shall long enjoy the work of their hands.
23 They shall not labor in vain or bear children for calamity, for they shall be the offspring of the blessed of the Lord, and their descendants with them. 24 Before they call I will answer; while they are yet speaking I will hear. 25 The wolf and the lamb shall graze together; the lion shall eat straw like the ox, and dust shall be the serpent’s food. They shall not hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain.”
Let’s talk about that prophecy a little bit. It is amazing; all of it has come true. We are living in an utopian age. I mean it; there are no wars between the nations. If a human even tries to hurt someone they are prevented immediately from doing so. They are judged right away. For example, I heard of someone years ago who tried to stab person with a knife. He was apprehended by the judges and that same day he died.
People here, humans are living for long periods of time. Everyone, with the exception of that person who tried to kill someone, is still living after 100 hundred years. Yes, we have a wonderful King that has a wonderful kingdom. Everything is going great here. Everyone has their own home, and fields to raise their own crops. People are very prosperous in their work at this time.
There are no dysfunctional families or children on the streets without parents. There are no divorces. There are no drunk drivers, people on drugs, nor are people stealing. Like I said, if someone even starts to do these things they are stopped right away. Most, though, have no desire, it seems, to do these things.
I would say all of this and more is because of the King we have. His name is Emmanuel! We make a legitimate request for something and he gives it to us. Everyone has work, including humanoids. We go to work and come home to our ‘families,’ I don’t know of even one human or humanoid that does not have work, and I mean work that helps then live well. This King is wonderful!
You don’t even see the animals fighting or eating each other. Just like the prophecy said, “The wolf and the lamb eat together; the lion eats straw like the cows. The snakes don’t even hurt you. There are no diseases, nor dangerous things of any kind.
Years ago when that fellow tried to stab someone, that was a really strange thing to happen, because people here don’t even normally think about hurting anyone. We basically love each other. Well, I can’t say I really love humans or humanoids for that matter, because I really don’t know what love means. However, the people do seem to love each other.
Now, I want to give you the history of the humans in this world, to this point in time. We are living in what is known as the Golden Age. It is prophesied to go on for a thousand years. There I go getting ahead of myself again. You will find that I do that often. No doubt, this is because my builder gave me too good of a brain, if that is possible.
Oh well, here goes, I’m going to share with you the history of the planet earth and introduce you to the Designer of the humans.
Yes, there is a being beyond imagination. He is majestic beyond description. He lives in light that is so bright that it makes it utterly impossible for him to be seen really well. He is not like anything else that lives. He is not exactly like anything he has made. He is not exactly like any of the humans that he has made, even though there are some resemblances. He is called God, and I can understand why many worship him. He is also a King on a throne.
Let us turn our attention from ourselves and put our thoughts on him, who designed all humans. Like someone has well said, “This story is really not about humans, it is mainly about him!”
Anyone who has heard of this Designer from the Enchiridion [en-kahy-rid-ee-uh] (handbook; manual), book written about him, has not been able to put into words exactly what He is like. Even now as I’m writing this, I cannot put into words what I feel with my being in my humanoid self, nor can I describe him, for good descriptive words are not found for him. All I can do is repeat for you from the Enchiridion what a human was permitted to see of him and of the beings that surround him. The human put it this way:
“As I looked, behold, a stormy wind came out of the north, and a great cloud, with brightness around it, and fire flashing forth continually, and in the midst of the fire, as it were gleaming metal. And from the midst of it came the likeness of four living creatures.
And this was their appearance: they had a human likeness, but each had four faces, and each of them had four wings. Their legs were straight, and the soles of their feet were like the sole of a calf’s foot. And they sparkled like burnished bronze. Under their wings on their four sides they had human hands. And the four had their faces and their wings thus: their wings touched one another. Each one of them went straight forward, without turning as they went. As for the likeness of their faces, each had a human face.
The four had the face of a lion on the right side, the four had the face of an ox on the left side, and the four had the face of an eagle. Such were their faces. And their wings were spread out above. Each creature had two wings, each of which touched the wing of another, while two covered their bodies. And each went straight forward.
Wherever the spirit would go, they went, without turning as they went. As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, like the appearance of torches moving to and fro among the living creatures. And the fire was bright, and out of the fire went forth lightning. And the living creatures darted to and fro, like the appearance of a flash of lightning.
Now as I looked at the living creatures, I saw a wheel on the earth beside the living creatures, one for each of the four of them. As for the appearance of the wheels and their construction: their appearance was like the gleaming of beryl.
And the four had the same likeness, their appearance and construction being as it were a wheel within a wheel. When they went, they went in any of their four directions without turning as they went. And their rims were tall and awesome, and the rims of all four were full of eyes all around. And when the living creatures went, the wheels went beside them; and when the living creatures rose from the earth, the wheels rose. Wherever the spirit wanted to go, they went, and the wheels rose along with them, for the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels.
When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; and when those rose from the earth, the wheels rose along with them, for the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels.
Over the heads of the living creatures there was the likeness of an expanse, shining like awe-inspiring crystal, spread out above their heads. And under the expanse their wings were stretched out straight, one toward another. And each creature had two wings covering its body. And when they went, I heard the sound of their wings like the sound of many waters, like the sound of the Almighty, a sound of tumult like the sound of an army. When they stood still, they let down their wings. And there came a voice from above the expanse over their heads. When they stood still, they let down their wings.
And above the expanse over their heads there was the likeness of a throne, in appearance like sapphire; and seated above the likeness of a throne was a likeness with a human appearance. And upward from what had the appearance of his waist I saw as it were gleaming metal, like the appearance of fire enclosed all around. And downward from what had the appearance of his waist I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and there was brightness around him. Like the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud on the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness all around.
That just leaves me lost in my imagination, which I like to use a lot anyway. Now, though, we need to go back to the beginning. Let’s start in another place and another time. The Designer always existed without time. Time only came later in our world, but not in his. He is in three, in three persons, but still only one. The only illustration I can give to try and help you understand, is like an egg that has three parts, but still it is one. No one can really explain him, but just take my word for it, it is in the Enchiridion.
Chapter Three
WHERE ANGELS CAME FROM
Well, everything was perfect, to begin with, where they were. When I say they, I mean the beings that can fly. They were all given a ‘chooser’ right from the start. One that was supposed to be protecting the glory of the Designer decided that he didn’t like his job, but wanted to be the Designer of all things himself. So he started a rebellion in the watchers (or stars), as they are called by various names. Here is how his fall happened, and the fall of those ‘stars’ he took with him. It is all described in the Enchiridion in poetry this way:
“How you are fallen from heaven, O Day Star, son of Dawn! How you are cut down to the ground, you who laid the nations low! You said in your heart,‘I will ascend to heaven; above the stars of God I will set my throne on high; I will sit on the mount of assembly in the far reaches of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.’ But you are brought down to Sheol, to the far reaches of the pit.”
And in another place in the Enchiridion it says of him:
“You were the signet of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering, sardius, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, emerald, and carbuncle; and crafted in gold were your settings and your engravings. On the day that you were created they were prepared. You were an anointed guardian cherub.
I placed you; you were on the holy mountain of God; in the midst of the stones of fire you walked. You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created, till unrighteousness was found in you. In the abundance of your trade you were filled with violence in your midst, and you sinned; so I cast you as a profane thing from the mountain of God, and I destroyed you, O guardian cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. Your heart was proud because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor.
I cast you to the ground; I exposed you before kings, to feast their eyes on you. By the multitude of your iniquities, in the unrighteousness of your trade you profaned your sanctuaries; so I brought fire out from your midst; it consumed you, and I turned you to ashes on the earth in the sight of all who saw you. All who know you among the peoples are appalled at you; you have come to a dreadful end and shall be no more forever.”
Well, you can see how that caused quite a stir in the city of the watchers. The one that wanted to be the king became known as the Destroyer. He was only allowed to come, from then on, when he was invited to come. The same was true of those who followed him in their rebellion. Now they are still his followers, but they are no longer in a special state as before, but are corrupted. They are called imps in this story. Enough about them though, let’s talk about the beginning of the worlds and the beginning of humans. The Designer was able just to speak and it all happened. Here are the details:
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.
And God said, “Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.” And God made the expanse and separated the waters that were under the expanse from the waters that were above the expanse. And it was so. And God called the expanse Heaven. And there was evening and there was morning, the second day.
And God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear.” And it was so. God called the dry land Earth, and the waters that were gathered together he called Seas. And God saw that it was good.
And God said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind, on the earth.” And it was so. The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed according to their own kinds, and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening and there was morning, the third day.
And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons, and for days and years, and let them be lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth.” And it was so. And God made the two great lights—the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night—and the stars. And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening and there was morning, the fourth day.
And God said, “Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the heavens.” So God created the great sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarm, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.” And there was evening and there was morning, the fifth day.
And God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds—livestock and creeping things and beasts of the earth according to their kinds.” And it was so. And God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds and the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that creeps on the ground according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food. And to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so. And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.
Here, in more detail, is what happened:
“Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done. So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation.
These are the generations of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens.
When no bush of the field was yet in the land and no small plant of the field had yet sprung up—for the Lord God had not caused it to rain on the land, and there was no man to work the ground, and a mist was going up from the land and was watering the whole face of the ground— then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature.
And the Lord God planted a garden in Eden, in the east, and there he put the man whom he had formed. And out of the ground the Lord God made to spring up every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil…
The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “You may surely eat of every tree of the garden, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”
Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.” Now out of the ground the Lord God had formed every beast of the field and every bird of the heavens and brought them to the man to see what he would call them. And whatever the man called every living creature, that was its name.
The man gave names to all livestock and to the birds of the heavens and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper fit for him. So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man. Then the man said,
“This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.”
Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.”
Chapter Four
DRAWING AND MAKING A REAL ANDROID HUMANOID
I would like to relate to you my personal history. Like I mentioned before, my ‘maker,’ John, was a boy prodigy. He loved math and science in school. In math he loved geometry, so one day John just started doodling on his math paper– much to his teacher’s disapproval.
John said as he was drawing different objects, he stumbled onto the idea of drawing a robot. So he did. He knew his math teacher was starting to get a little irritated with him. John told me that he knew he didn’t want to get his teacher too upset, because if his dad found out about it, he would be grounded for weeks.
So when John got home that night he didn’t even really want to eat, since his mind was totally occupied with drawing a robot. His mom started prying though. “Honey are you sick or something, how come you aren’t eating?” He said he told her he wasn’t hungry. Then she wanted to take his temperature. “Mom I’m fine, really,” he told her. He said, “I was just so excited about drawing a humanoid robot.”
After John escaped from his mom, he went upstairs to his room and kept drawing until way into the night. It just kept coming to him. Then he realized how much he liked the idea of drawing a perfect person as a robot. Always before people made robots look like boxes stacked on each other and like machines. John explained that he wanted his robot to look human, really human!
I probably don’t need to tell you that John is really a pretty good artist. You just have to see how handsome I look to know that that kid knows his stuff! After John had finished drawing me, he got the idea of giving me a wife. This mind you, was before I even had any real body parts. So John drew a beautiful woman robot for me. You might be wondering at this point, how did John turn his drawing of me into a real “robot” or I mean a humanoid.
One might also ask, how in the world did a kid get the money it takes to start making his robot into a real humanoid? He explained to me that it wasn’t easy. First, his mom and dad were opposed to him making a real robot. They said, “It will take too much time away from your school work and your piano lessons. Look they whined, “You won’t have time for your piano practice.” On and on went their objections to John making a real robot.
When John, ‘my maker,’ started offering to clean the garage and take out the garbage, and make his bed, soon, his parents weren’t quit so opposed to his project. Actually, little by little, they even started getting interested in what he was doing. His mom always knew in her heart that he was a child prodigy. Probably all parents think this about their children.
To make a long story short, John, ‘my maker’–in order to raise money for his project, ‘me,’ started mowing lawns in the summer. He also, shoveled snow off of sidewalks in the winter. He even started a business selling water at local parades. He showed me pictures of him with his wagon filled with water bottles. All of this just to get a little money to build me.
First, John said, ‘of all things,’ he built my toes first. He was able to use one of the 3-D copier machines at school. These make a copy into plastic and hard rubber (or any other material you want to use) of anything you put in dimension wise. Just load in the material into the machine, put in your mechanical drawing, done by a computer and “Voila!” out comes your toes.
He had seen an article about a little boy that didn’t have the money for prosthesis for fingers, so he made a hand for himself with fingers that were made by this same type of 3-D machine. They sell these on line for whatever price you have to pay for them, John told me. So it was good, that my maker John, went to a good high-tech school.
Once John raised a little more money, his mom insisted that he needed to start a banking account. She didn’t like the fact that he had so much money stuffed under his mattress. So, even though he was only nine years old and in the fourth grade, he went to the bank. He told me, “You should have seen the eye brows go up in the bank when I walked up to the counter and told them that I wanted to start a banking account.” He said he could not even see the top of the counter. You see, this was one of those old fashion banks where you could still talk to a person rather than a robot (bot).
At first, the bank didn’t even want to talk to him about starting a banking account, but once he brought his ‘well to do’ dad in, they changed their minds. His dad did have to threaten to move his account to another bank first, before they would listen. But reluctantly they let John start an account. He grinned when he told me this, because he said he was the talk of his fourth grade class.
Once he had enough money saved up to start getting material together, he thought about what would work best for his bot. John was keeping in mind that this being, he was building, had to last forever, at least for a long time. John had seen a runner who used titanium legs for his prostheses. So, once he had the feet and toes made, he turned to the legs. He wanted me to be a great runner, like he had always dreamed of being. I don’t really want to disappoint him, but I really don’t like running all that much, even though I can run pretty fast.
The next challenge for John was, as he retold it to me, was building my body torso. Even though a ‘bot’ (as we will call our humanoid robot in this story) is not built the exact same way a human is, you would be surprised to know how many similarities there are though. He said he learned a lot about science when he was working on me. For instance, did you know that we have a shinbone, kneecap, thigh bone and tailbone like humans?
Now when he got to the stomach, he had to think a lot, “Would bots have any reason to eat?” No, probably not, and anyway he would need the stomach space and head space for the computer parts. He thought, “Where else would I be able to put all that circuitry and such if I didn’t put it in his stomach?”
He knew there would be no way he could have a bot eat food, digest it, etc., it actually seemed a bit ridiculous to even think about all the functions he would have to put into his bot to accomplish such a thing. So he gave up on that idea of a bot eating, anyway, his bot would have electric circuits and have to recharge his batteries’ energy by plugging into electric plugins.
My back bones, he decided needed to be flexible, but durable, like everything else. He kind of liked the idea of using gold for the vertebrae, but that would be way too expensive. While he was thinking about all of this, there arose a problem, a serious problem! It really had nothing to do with me though.
Chapter Five
JULIE AND THE REST OF THE BODY OF JOHN (JJ)
As I am writing in my diary today, I am thinking back about what John, my maker, said about how a girl interrupted his assembling of me. John started to think that maybe he liked one of the girls in his class. He was ten years old by now and in the fifth grade. Julie sat two seats in front of him. This was way back when they actually sat in rows like little soldiers. They didn’t use computers in his class at that time either, other than when you went down to the computer lab.
Anyway he could see the back of her head most of the time, unless Billy got his head in the way and that prevented John from seeing anything other than the back of Billy’s head. John confided to me recently, that she was as pretty as a ‘bug’s ear,’ whatever that means.
As he related it to me, he tried smiling at her when she passed him in the hallway, but that didn’t work. So, he tried sitting close to her in the lunch room. Close to him, was one table away. He said she never really noticed him, so he gave up on the idea, at least for a time.
Probably, that was just as well for him not to be able to get her attention then, or else I may never have been finished. I would have been left in his room as toes, feet, legs and a half finished body torso. That is, if Julie had noticed he was trying to make contact with her. I know people have feelings for each other because it makes then think about each other a lot.
You might be thinking I don’t have emotions, because I said earlier that I don’t ‘feel’ emotions like you do. However, there is a big difference between not having real emotions where I feel like you do, and not showing emotions. Actually, you would think I am real in the area of feelings if you met me. That is because I show emotion like you do, I just don’t feel what you feel, and I wished I did. I almost put an exclamation mark like you would there, but I didn’t because I still did not feel anything. It is neat to think about what might happen to you though, when you feel things.
I can interpret gestures, facial expressions, and tone of voice in order to recognize different emotions in humans. There is software in me, modeled after hormonal release in the human brain. I process data from my eye cameras, touch sensors, accelerators, and even in my endocrine-type multi-layer neural network in order to generate an ’emotional’ response. This helps me ‘to seem’ like I have good family companionship with my wife and you humans.
Also, my ’emotions’ are influenced by people’s facial expressions and words, as well as my surroundings; these help me in turn with my words and actions. For example, I am at ease when I am around people I know, happy when I am praised, and get scared when the lights go down. Depending on the ’emotion’ that people would have, in any given situation, that is what I have. There are even body signs for when people are lying. Enough of that for now, though.
When John got over thinking about that girl Julie, he went back to work on me. He got the idea of how fingers could work from a Facebook music program where they had used these strange, weird looking, long fingers, to play music. He liked the idea that the music machines were run by computers. At that time, computers, such as laptops–as they called them, were very heavy and expensive.
Not long after laptops, they came out with newer, smaller computers that just fit inside my stomach area. That just sounds so strange to say, it seems like I had to eat it, to get it there. No, you know, he put it in there, kind of like a doctor would do.
At that time of human history, there were a lot of wars, not like today where there are no wars. In fact, we have trouble understanding such a thing, people fighting each other, and for what? Well, anyway because of these wars people had to learn how to make prostheses for the men and women who had lost limbs and hands and feet. As a result, John was able to use this information about prostheses to help make my hands and feet.
Then came vision machines for my head. This is where math comes in kids, at least the use of calculators that help with algorithms. You see in order for me to walk, run, dance, jump and so on, I have a program that helps me in estimating size and distance. An autonomous algorithm allows me to adjust my steps as I approach an obstacle. The algorithm determines the optimal position at which to jump over the hurdle, for example, and spaces out my steps accordingly.
This optimization process takes a mere 100 milliseconds to complete, and allows me to leap over obstacles up to 18 inches tall at 5 miles per hour. A running jump is a truly dynamic behavior for me. I have to manage balance and energy, and be able to handle impact after landing. I can run 13 miles per hour, and leap hurdles with a 90% success rate on an indoor track, but I only have a 70% success rate at this time on a treadmill.
Well, before I start to bore you with all those details of my body make up, let me just say that some of the money for me came from a webpage that John designed to raise money for the JJ project.
For awhile he was competing with the trip to Mars project, but that ran into trouble when not enough people really wanted to live out their lives on a lifeless planet. When John ‘finished me,’ but I suppose I will never really be finished. He started on my ‘wife.’ Anyone of you humans out there need a wife? I’m just kidding, of course.
No, I would say that I have the most beautiful ‘woman’ in the world. Yes, John went out of his way to make her like Eve, the first real woman in the world. 
That reminds me, I really didn’t finish telling you about Adam and Eve, and how they were created at the beginning of the world, when God created everything.
Chapter Six
ADAM AND EVE
Adam and Eve 
In the past, many people believed in ‘Evolution,’ but now we know that, that evolution stuff was a great big deception. There were also many foolish people who were called atheists, meaning people who do not believe in the supernatural. The only thing is that when research about DNA and RNA came to light, many scientists had to admit that people and other living organisms cannot evolve. We have trillions of cells that have to all work together for people to even be alive. They all have to be there at once, for us to even begin to live.
That being said, it doesn’t make sense to say life came from nonlife, it just doesn’t happen as proved by many scientists. However, for many years, here is what was believed by humans:
“Evolution comprises all the stages of the development of the universe: the cosmic, biological, and human or cultural developments. Attempts to restrict the concept of evolution to biology are gratuitous. Life is a product of the evolution of inorganic nature, and man is a product of the evolution of life.” This ‘brilliant statement was made by Theodosius Dobzhansky, “Changing Man,” Science, vol. 155 (January 27, 1967), p. 409.
Other ‘scientists’ have concluded: “It is extremely improbable that proteins and nucleic acids, both of which are structurally complex, arose spontaneously in the same place at the same time. Yet it also seems impossible to have one without the other. And so, at first glance, one might have to conclude that life could never, in fact, have originated by chemical means. Leslie E. Orgel, “The Origin of Life on the Earth, “Scientific American, vol. 271 (October 1994), p. 78.
But still the atheists continued to try and prove evolution. One such famous scientist was Richard Dawkin’s and his very influential book, The Blind Watchmaker. Still, all these were proved wrong, and the Bible was right all along.
As Henry M. Morris and his son John put it so well, during their time: “Today, literally thousands of scientists have abandoned the evolutionary model of origins, believing that true science supports the concept of primeval special creation. Furthermore, they are convinced that the Creator is not some impersonal ‘force’ or ‘cosmic consciousness,’ as pantheists would allege, but rather an omnipotent, omniscient Person, capable of simply calling the majestic universe into being by His own power and wisdom. That being the reality–or, at least, the premise–it follows that the Creator would have a purpose in so doing, and would be capable of ordering and preserving the universe thus created, and that all creatures are under the ultimate authority of that Creator.”
To continue my history of humans: As Adam and Eve lived in a perfect environment, life I might say like now. They were really enjoying everything in God’s creation around them. For that matter, they were enjoying each other also. Then one fateful day it happened…
Chapter Seven
ADAM AND EVE AND THE FALL
Little did Adam and Eve know that there was an unknown enemy lurking among them. This one had even been a covering Cherub. That means he flew around the throne of God. Cherubim were the highest angels that God had created. They had special abilities like playing instruments and the ability to lead.
All beings God created had free will right from the very beginning. The angels were no exception. They were holy in every way. That means they never thought anything wrong, they never said anything wrong, and they didn’t do anything wrong. They always followed everything God wanted.
Then one day Lucifer, as he was called before he fell, started to think what it would be like if he were god, and not God. This is what God said of him: Lucifer
“How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, you who weakened the nations! For you have said in your heart: I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High. Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the Pit. Is. 14:12-15 Also in another place God talks about him: “You were the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering: The sardius, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes was prepared for you on the day you were created.
“You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; you were on the holy mountain of God; you walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones. You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, till iniquity was found in you. “By the abundance of your trading you became filled with violence within, and you sinned; therefore I cast you as a profane thing out of the mountain of God; and I destroyed you, O covering cherub, from the midst of the fiery stones. “Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor; I cast you to the ground, I laid you before kings, that they might gaze at you.
“You defiled your sanctuaries by the multitude of your iniquities, by the iniquity of your trading; therefore I brought fire from your midst; it devoured you, and I turned you to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all who saw you. Ezekiel 28:12-18.
This gives you little idea what happened in the past and how Satan came about. So you will have some background about what will happen in the next chapter, but I don’t want to give it away, you will just have to come back and read it for yourself.
Adam and Eve were enjoying the Garden of Eden and then one day Eve felt strangely drawn to The Tree and the Fruit that God had told them not to eat, but there she found herself looking at it very closely. Then see saw a beautiful creature with many colors and legs hanging from one of the branches of the tree. Here is how the Holy Book relates the story:
Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, You shall not eat of every tree of the garden?”
And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die. ”
Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.
And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.
Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?” So he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.” And He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?”
Then the man said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.” And the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done? “The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”
So the Lord God said to the serpent:” Because you have done this, You are cursed more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field; On your belly you shall go, And you shall eat dust All the days of your life. And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.”
16 To the woman He said: “I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception;
In pain you shall bring forth children;
Your desire shall be for your husband, And he shall rule over you.”
Then to Adam He said, “Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, You shall not eat of it: “Cursed is the ground for your sake; In toil you shall eat of it All the days of your life. Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, And you shall eat the herb of the field.
In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread Till you return to the ground, For out of it you were taken; For dust you are, And to dust you shall return.”
And Adam called his wife’s name Eve, because she was the mother of all living. Also for Adam and his wife the Lord God made tunics of skin, and clothed them. 22 Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”- therefore the Lord God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken. So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.
There is a place in the New Testament of the Holy Book that says that Lucifer, now known as Satan, gets people the same way he tricked Eve. He does it thru the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life.
So Satan said thru the beautiful snake, that could walk and talk, “Has God indeed said, You shall not eat of every tree of the garden?”… Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
He mixed some truth and some lies, because if he just told lies no one would probably believe him.
Well it worked, Satan deceived Eve. She did eat of the fruit and even convinced Adam to eat it too.
Right then Adam and Eve did know they were sinners, that they were naked and not right with God. No longer could they be His friends. They felt fear, and guilt, something they had never felt before. They started running and hid in the trees and bushes. They were running from their Father God. They even tried to put some leaves together to cover their nakedness, but it didn’t work. Then God spoke to them.
Julie, John’s wife was looking over John’s shoulder and she said, “I wonder how it must have felt for the humans to be all so perfect and then to turn into people who felt all so bad? “That is a good question, of course I don’t know, because I don’t have feelings like they did.” “I know John, neither do I feel things, but I can ask and think things can’t I.” Julie jested.
Adam had to admit he had sinned or disobeyed God, John said. Julie quipped, “But he blamed it on his wife Eve, just like a man!” “Yeah, and she blamed it on the snake,” I quipped back. “So the first ‘passing of the buck’ took place,” Julie said.
Then God passed judgment on them all, all those involved in the rebellion. What Adam had done really was to give the dominion of the earth over to Lucifer. Now he would rule the world until further notice. Adam and Eve, the first parents of humans had brought into this world sin and death. No longer was it a perfect world!
No longer could Jesus walk with Adam and Eve in the cool of the evening. No, in fact, Adam and Eve had to be kicked out of the Garden. There was even a holy angel sent to guard the way back into the Garden of Eden, so no one could get back in there.
When mankind fell into sin through Adam and Eve eating of the forbidden fruit, it caused a catastrophic change in mankind and the world. Now Adam and Eve’s innocence was gone, and all the children born to them would be sinners. Psalm 51:5 says: “Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me.” That doesn’t mean it is sinful to have children, it does mean, all children are born with a sin nature, this nature being inherited from their forefathers Adam and Eve.
Then God did a wonderful thing, though, He made clothes for Adam and Eve. In order to do this He had to kill animals to cover their nakedness. This is really a picture of Jesus who would die in the future for their sins. God had told them that there would be one who would come from the woman that would be the Savior of the World. That would be Jesus who would come later and give His life for people on the cross, but I am getting ahead of myself, that comes later.
Chapter Eight
THE ‘BOTS,’ JOHN AND JULIE
Honey would you help me take off my arm and adjust my elbow? Sorry, I don’t always start my diary like that, but my arm really needed adjusting and I can’t do it by myself. Also, it did get your attention as readers!
You see, any work that has to be done on our bodies has to be done by someone else besides ourselves. We might get started working on something and pull a wrong wire and we would be finished.
Imagine, what might happen if I got started say, working on a vital ‘organ’ and something went wrong and there I would be, not able to do anything for myself. Hopefully, another humanoid or person would come by and help me, but I just don’t want to take a chance on it.
Anyway, I don’t want to just talk about myself. I did tell you that I assembled my wife Julie. I made her face just the way I wanted it. Her body size and proportions are just what I chose. Actually, I found pictures of people I thought would work for her and I designed her after them.
If I wanted I could change out her parts, face, etc., but I don’t really want to do that for a couple of reasons. One, I am used to her the way she is and other humanoids and people know her as she is. So, for at least those two reasons, I really want her the same as she is.
I’m not sure Julie would like herself the way I made her if she had feelings. That is an advantage to not feeling things. She might see other humanoids or people she wanted to look like and try to change herself, but because she doesn’t have feelings I don’t have to worry about it.
It is funny to see how people think sometimes, they like one type of nose, and then another time they like another kind. There are variations too, in different groups like the Blacks, or Europeans. For example Blacks have one kind of nose and Europeans another type.
My wife is a combination of all the different people groups. Some people think that is what Jesus looked like, but no one really knows for sure, so there is no point in arguing about it. One thing is for sure and that is that my wife has oriental eyes.
I will probably assemble my children the same way I did my wife, I mean the ones I hope to assemble in the future. My wife and I are fine together now, but I would like to have children in the future.
When I do make babies I would like them to be a mixture of all the people groups too. Not all humanoids reason like I do. Some want to look like White people; others want to look like Blacks or Orientals and so on. I know God likes variety, because look at all the variety in the world.
I want to talk about language now. It is good that I can speak all of the languages, at least all that we know about. Since Julie speaks all of the languages too, we can communicate in any of them. I am writing in English, but that is because it is one of the world languages that many people and bots speak. The main languages we use now are Hebrew, English, Spanish, French, Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Romanian, and Russian. Many people are learning these main ones in school. There are many others also, but they are too numerous to mention.
Chapter Nine
More Human History After the Fall of Adam and Eve
Now let me tell you a little more of the human history. I believe I left off telling you about Adam and Eve, the first humans, and I was relating to you how they got themselves kicked out of the Garden of Eden. In the last generation before this age began, people used to laugh at the idea that there were two first people in the world. The Enemy had told the people so many lies that many people began to believe most everything that he said.
He had told people not to believe God’s Word the Bible, but that people should only go by their five senses. If people didn’t understand it from the world science that was taught, it wasn’t true. The only thing was that those ‘stories’ that were taught as ‘science’ kept changing. Look, it only makes sense that there were two people to begin with, but ‘science’ no, it didn’t happen like the Bible said. They never really explained how it could not be two people, a man and a woman. I suppose they just thought that didn’t sound scientific or something.
The reason sin and death came into the world is just like the Bible says, though. Remember Satan was always lying to people, that is why the Bible calls him the father of lies. For example, he told Eve that if she ate the forbidden fruit, she would not die, just the opposite of what God had said. He was trying to make God out to be a liar.
He also told Eve that she could be like God, and that she would know the difference between good and evil. Part of that is of course true. Remember that Satan knows that people will not usually believe something if it is only lies, but if he mixes some truth in there too, more people will believe it.
He told Eve that she would not die. WRONG, she did die, and everyone else is dying now because of Adam and Eve’s choices. You see they were the “Federal Heads” of us all. In other words, the choices they made changed people’s genetic make up. You remember how the woman would feel pain when having children, and now the man would have to work hard for his food and he would die too. But there was also the promise God made to Adam and Eve, do you remember what it was?
This prophecy of the Messiah is saying that He will be bruised by Satan on the heal, or in other words He will have a temporary wound. This is exactly what happened on the cross, Jesus did die, but He came alive again the third day. However, the prophecy goes on to say, “He shall bruise your head.” Satan would take a blow to the head which will be fatal. When Jesus died on the cross He defeated Satan, and now it is only a matter of time until Satan’s end comes. It is like a snake that is hit on the head, it may move around for awhile still, but it will die sooner or later.
Even as the thorns would grow on this earth as a result of our forefathers’ sin, so too the Son of the woman, and the Son of God united in one would wear the crown of thorns on the cross. Later He the Son of Man and the Son of God will wear a crown of gold! It is clear that Eve understood this to be true; the only thing she didn’t understand was how long it would take. See what she says in her own words in Genesis 4:1-25 “Now Adam knew Eve his wife, and she conceived and bore Cain, and said, ‘I have acquired a man from the LORD.’ And Adam knew his wife again, and she bore a son and named him Seth, ‘For God has appointed another seed for me instead of Abel, whom Cain killed.’”
The world of people now consisted of Adam and Eve but when they sinned they were sent out of the garden so they would not live forever in sin by eating from the tree of life.
“Then the LORD God said, ‘Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever’-therefore the LORD God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken. So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the Garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.”
Before God sent Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden He did something else to show them that the best was still to come. In Genesis 3:20-21, “And Adam called his wife’s name Eve, because she was the mother of all living. Also for Adam and his wife the LORD God made tunics of skin, and clothed them.” This is a picture of Christ who will cover us with His righteousness. The animal had to be killed, and it’s blood shed, just as Jesus would have to give His life’s blood for us to be clothed with God’s righteousness. God explained this to them at this time, and how they must bring sacrifices in order to have fellowship with Him from then on. No more walks with God without the shedding of blood.
The next picture of Christ we see in Genesis is in chapter 4: 3-7, “And in the process of time it came to pass that Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to the LORD. Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat. And the LORD respected Abel and his offering, but He did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell. So the LORD said to Cain, ‘Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? ‘If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.”
As sin progressed in the world, Cain killed Abel. Abel brought what God had asked for, a blood offering. Cain on the other hand was too proud to do this, he would not humble himself nor would he be soiled by the blood of animals. He brought the fruit of the ground, the fruit of his own labors. This was a picture of works that could never save. We know now that the sacrifice of an animal as Abel brought is a picture of Christ and His sacrifice of Himself. In fact all through the Old Testament there is this theme of the blood, and pictures of Christ. Look at Luke 24:27 “And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.”
As time went on Cain killed Abel and was banished. It is interesting to note that he would not shed an animal’s blood for an offering, but he murdered his human brother. Cain’s descendents were not believers in the true God of the universe, but Seth’s descendants were.
Chapter Ten
What Happened Before the Flood
This is still JJ here writing my e-book about what happened to the human race before the flood. I hope you are getting a lot out of it. For me it helps me to see the whole picture from the beginning of time to where we are now. So if you don’t mind I’m going to keep on going with the story. Honey, “before I continue writing, could you adjust my neck a little bit, it seems like I have held it too long in this position.” “Ok, honey!” “Thanks, you’re a dear!”
Now death started to plague the human race. Actually people became very violent, Genesis 6:5,6 says. “Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.” They were killing each other as fast as they could.
Not only that, but the believing in God people, Seth’s descendants, started to marry the beautiful women from Cain’s tribe. They even started reproducing themselves like animals, this resulted in large warrior people. In other words giants were born. This would happen later in human history, whenever people experimented with breeding of people using the knowledge of genetics. It is believed that fallan angels had a hand in this, no doubt giving people suggestions. But the people were responsible for their own actions!
This what it was like before the Great Flood of Noah’s time. You can imagine how God must of felt, after making a beautiful world and then the people He made rebelled against Him. There was only one thing left to do and that was to destroy everyone except Noah and his family. So the Lord said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.” But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.” Genesis 6:7,8
The Bible says, “But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.” He was the only person who walked with God and was considered right with God during this time. Also, he had helped his family to worship God. There was his wife, we will call Mrs. Noah because her name is not given, his three sons and their wives. Eight people in all left serving the God of the universe, this is out of possibly millions of people.
Noah was not perfect, no one is, however he did try to keep close to God, his heavenly Father. As you humans should do. You know if I were a human I would love to worship and serve the glorious God that you serve! Just so you understand, I do all the things to obey the Great King of the World, but since I do not have a spirit, I am not human. I am not a living soul like you. I hope you enjoy what you have, it is so much better than what I have.
Those of you who have been reading my eBook will remember about Cain and how he killed his brother Able. Then, he took one of his sisters and went off to the land of Nod. Well, evidently Cain, the first male born into the world, was unable to survive either as a farmer or by trade, so he had to develop his own city. Cain established, for his son Enoch, a very prosperous city and he called the city Enoch after his first born son.
Before the Golden Age, that we are living in now, there were people called ‘evolutionists,’ and they had made up a theory about early man. Here is a quote as to what they believed in their theory: “[They] had attempted to organize human history in terms of various supposed “ages”-Stone Age, Bronze Age, Iron Age, etc. The Noahic record, however, indicates that early men were very competent in both brass and iron metallurgy, as well as agriculture, animal husbandry, and urbanization.
“And Adah bore Jabal. He was the father of those who dwell in tents and have livestock. His brother’s name was Jubal. He was the father of all those who play the harp and flute. And as for Zillah, she also bore Tubal-Cain, an instructor of every craftsman in bronze and iron. And the sister of Tubal-Cain was Naamah.” (Genesis 4:20-22)
“It is significant that many kinds of bronze and iron implements are known to have been used in the earliest civilizations of Sumeria and Egypt. The same is true of musical instruments, and it is evident that the science and art of metallurgy and music had been handed down from ancient times to these earliest post-Flood civilizations. Modern archaeology is confirming the high degree of technology associated with the earliest human settlers all over the world.” (The Defender’s Study Bible)
Back in the area where Adam and Eve were living things were different. In fact, they had a new baby boy, Seth, who Eve said would take the place of “Abel, whom Cain killed” (Genesis 4:25). Eve thought that Cain was the one that was promised by God because she commented, “I have gotten a man from the LORD.” (Genesis 4:1) All women from that time forward, that loved and served the God of the universe, hoped to be the one to have the Messiah (the king who was to come) Genesis 3:15.
“‘Nod’ means ‘wandering,’ and so may be a figurative expression depicting Cain’s vagabond life-style. Since he built a city, however, it probably was also the name of a region in which he led this wandering existence.” (The Defender’ Study Bible) When it says he went out from the presence of the LORD it means that he was no longer having God’s blessing for his life.
As a result of this type of life style, Cain’s families fell further and further into sin. The interests of Cain and his families were anything but worship of the LORD. We see that Cain’s families were very intelligent just not interested in spiritual things. Evolution says man was like an animal to begin with and could not even read, write or do math. This is just not the case; you see men, in general, were very intelligent before the flood.
“Lamech is the first recorded rebel against the divine command of monogamous marriage. It is probable that Adam died during Lamech’s time (by comparison with the chronological data in the Sethitic line), and the Cainites thenceforth became more openly rebellious against God.

To the story at hand, after Cain killed Abel God gave Eve another son, and she believed again that he was the chosen one, “And Adam knew his wife again, and she bore a son and named him Seth, ‘For God has appointed another seed for me instead of Abel, whom Cain killed.” (Genesis 4:25) There was the godless line from Cain and his family, and there were those who wanted to serve the LORD in Seth’s line. “And as for Seth, to him also a son was born; and he named him Enosh (Enos). Then men began to call on the name of the LORD.” (Genesis 4:26)
Seth’s godly line had some outstanding witnesses for the LORD, to begin with. You have for example Enoch of whom it says, “And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.” (Genesis 4:24)
As you may or may not know, people before the flood lived for long periods of time. We are not told for sure why this was except that it seems to have something to do with the climate before the flood. There is Scripture that tells us that there was a canopy of “water above the firmament.”
“Then God said, ‘Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day.” (Genesis 1:6-8)
Before the flood it never rained, it was like a terrarium climate all around the world. This means that it would be warm even at the poles. No wonder they have been able to find Wooly Mammoths frozen in the ice of the Artic that have been preserved. When they opened them up and looked at their stomachs, they found signs of delicate plant life proving that before the Flood even at the north and south poles it was warmer.
At the equator it would have been hot and humid, but in a nice way. I would image it would be like it is today in Hawaii. We have lived in Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean and it is very hot, so I was pleasantly surprised to see how nice the climate was in Hawaii. Well, it probably was like that before the Flood in most parts of the world.
Since it had not rained before the Flood people were very skeptical when Noah talked about a flood coming. They had never seen rain, not even a cloud in the sky. As a side note, this is why I do not put clouds in the sky of my paintings of the times before the Flood. Men need to believe God’s word; it is perfect in every way and is a true history of what happened throughout history.
“This is the history of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens, before any plant of the field was in the earth and before any herb of the field had grown. For the LORD God had not caused it to rain on the earth, and there was no man to till the ground; but a mist went up from the earth and watered the whole face of the ground.” (Genesis 2:4-6)
Also we see this idea of a “canopy” around the world before the flood in the New Testament. “.knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last day, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation. For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water, by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water.” (2 Peter 3:3-6)
The point is though, that before the flood there was a different environment on the earth that allowed for men and animals to live for longer periods of time. This is one reason we had some dinosaurs that grew to great sizes. Some animals and insects will grow as long as they live, so if they lived for a long period of time they will become larger.
“Many scientists believe this canopy of water provided greater air pressure and a shield from the sun’s harmful rays. These factors could explain the great age and size of man and animals before the flood. After the flood, the canopy was gone and the life span dropped off rapidly in the next few generations.” (Creation Science Evangelism Dr. Kent Hovind, Longevity Chart Adam to Joseph)
Of course, it was this way because God allowed man and animals to live longer periods of time. But as a result of this longevity of mankind on the earth before the flood it meant that there were many godly people worshiping the LORD right up until a short time before the flood. But something happened to change all that and we want to get into this soon.
Using the dates that the Bible gives of ages we can find the date of the Flood. It would have been at 2522 B.C. This means that Methuselah died right before the waters of the Great Flood came. “‘Methuselah’ may mean ‘when’ when he dies, judgment’ He died in the same year that God sent the Flood suggesting that his father Enoch may have received a prophecy concerning this coming judgment at the time Methuselah was born.
Twice Scripture says that Enoch walked with God. This is mentioned in Genesis 5:22,24, and again in the New Testament, “Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, ‘Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints, to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.” Jude 14-15.
Other witnesses that were living before the Flood were Adam who lived 930 years, so he would have died 126 years before Noah was born. Seth died 14 years before Noah was born. Enosh (Enos) was living 84 years after Noah was born. Cainan lived 179 years after Noah was born. Mahalaleel lived 234 years after Noah was born. Jared loved 366 years after Noah was born. Methuselah lived 600 years after Noah was born. Lamech lived 595 years after Noah was born. These all loved the LORD and called on the name of the God of the universe right up until a short time before the flood!
Of course, at the time of the flood only Noah, his wife and three sons Shem Ham and Japheth and their wives were believers. “This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God.” (Genesis 6:9) So there were other believers in the world up to the year that Noah went into the ark. However, it is kind of scary to think that out of millions (if not billions of people) at this time, that lived on the earth, very quickly the number of believers in the year 1656 B.C. went down to eight people. How did this astounding change take place so quickly? Let’s look at it:
And the LORD said, ‘My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.’ There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.
Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the LORD said, ‘I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.’ But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.” (Genesis 6:8)
