Question: What evil spirit do you think is newly coming about across America?
Answer: I would have thought you would ask what “evil spirits” plural, and I am assuming that you mean evil schemes of Satan. The attitude of many is: If there is a God we don’t need Him anyway. Let’s just get every remembrance of God out of our society. Not only that, instead of speaking of God singular let’s speak of “gods” plural, like “May the gods be with you.” I know that right now it is kind of a joke, but that is how all these things have started.
Right now it is a joke for the same sex to kiss each other, but this is because Satan wants to bring homosexuality into our living rooms very gently. In a matter of time it will be very common for same sex “lovers” to very openly kiss, etc., and it will not be a joke. This is because this is the life-style Satan wants people to have. Marriage is an affront to his kingdom. Marriage will become more and more passé, or an unwelcome part of our society, at least a portion of it. I am not sure how it will happen, but Scripture speaks of a time where it will take place. “Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.” (I Timothy 4:1-3)
Homosexuality (and I use that term rather than “gay” because I believe it is making it sound more acceptable when we use this term) will become accepted as an acceptable “life-style by the majority of society. So what else do I see on the horizon spiritually as far as what Satan has to offer, you will see more and more that pedophilia will be accepted and bestiality. These things have always been around, but they will come more and more out into the open, and become more common place. Once they become common place people do not think of them as so wrong. Look how it has happened through the years with divorce, adultery, abortion, premarital sex, having babies out of wedlock, and now homosexuality and euthanasia.
The Bible prophesies: “Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.” (Romans 1:24-27)
In our state is could be made into law before too long, if the homosexual segment has its way, that what I am writing right now could be considered a hate crime. In reality I should have the freedom to express what the Word of God teaches, if this is in fact a free society. In saying this, I want people to know that all of us who are saved, including myself, are just sinners saved by grace. God loves all of us the same, and we should never do anything physically to harm another person created by God. However, it should not be wrong to express, in love, what God’s Word says about this subject. It should not be wrong to share with the world what God says is sin. You know that one day, though, this could become a punishable offense.
Paul goes on in his prophecy by saying: “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.” (Romans 1:28-32)
This is quite the list, but we see it taking place right before our eyes! This is what Jesus says it will be like: “Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, ‘Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?’ And Jesus answered and said to them: ‘Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.
“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” (Matthew 24:3-14)
Some of these things may be fulfilled in the Tribulation that is to come on the earth, but we know things are building up even before that time. “‘Beginning of sorrows,’ the term means ‘labor pains,’ which were expected to precede the end, marking the transition from this age to the Age to Come. The severe labor pains, followed by delivery and fulfillment, are also a pledge of the end and of the joy at the time of ‘delivery.'” (Spirit Filled Bible) ‘Pestilences is an interesting word, in the Greek it is LOIMOS, any deadly infectious malady. “And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven.” (Luke 21:11)
This might seem like a grim picture of the future, but there is hope in the Christ of the Bible. The one who died on the cross says to you, “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.” (Revelation 2:7) “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world-our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?” (1 John 5:4-5) If you don’t know Jesus personally, believe on Him, repent of your sins (turn from them) and ask Him to save you. If you are not sure He is really there, pray: “Jesus if you really are alive show me this,” and see what happens, how can you lose?!
God bless you and thank you for the questions.
