Question: Religions divide us. God is one!! God is Love. Who is the judge? Who is judging themselves saved? Who is judging the other person UNSAVED? Are we God? God is the judge; only God knows the hearts of man. (Ps 75:7) God is the judge.
God judged all as sinners (no human is perfect).so for one sinner to judge another sinner, we would not be fair. We must be careful and not become self-righteous and hypocritical.
Keep in mind and take notice!! The world over, religions divide us. God is one: one spirit; God is Love: God is Spiritual Love within us. God brings unity. Although, we are many. We are all one with God. Let us treasure the love of God, then we can enjoy one another without trying to be in God’s stead.
Answer: This is a long comment and we don’t always give the whole comment or question but in this case I think it is better to get the whole context of the comments. These comments came after this person read some of these two Discussion Questions: “Is it alright as a Christian woman for me to marry a Muslim man?” and “Is it alright for a saved person to marry an unsaved person?”
We have been told that a person will not write us unless they really like the article or they really don’t like it. It is obvious from reading this – one from the capital letters, many question marks and exclamation marks this person is very upset with us. Would you say this is a fair assessment?
With that in mind I would like to say, first, most of what we write is Scripture. Yes, we do some interpreting, but I hope we give what is in line with the passages we are using. With that in mind it may be best to give some more Scripture here.
Actually when this person says not to judge they are in fact judging. Also, we judge all the time in this life. When someone goes through a red light or runs a stop sign we judge them. We say something like, “Did you see that? That person ran a red light!”
The verse that was given, is taken out of context, this means the verses before and after the verse. The verse says, “But God is the Judge: He puts down one, and exalts another.” (Psalm 75:7) However, the last verse of this chapter says, “All the horns of the wicked I will also cut off, but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.” (Psalm 75:10)
So there is right and wrong and God will one day judge this so, yes, God is the final judge, but to say we are never to make judgments on this earth is foolish.
It is true that only God knows the heart and I would not even pretend to judge whether one is saved except by what the Word of God says.
Nowhere in the above statements of ‘love’ do we see that Jesus shed His blood for our salvation. This is how we can know if a person is saved is by whether or not they agree with God’s book the Bible. There can be no love without the judgment of God.
If a person could murder people and nothing would happen as a result, how would that make God a God of love? No, God has to judge sin, and that is why He gave the Ten Commandments to show us that, yes, we are all sinners in need of salvation.
It is true that none of us keep the commandments and that is why Jesus had to die, in order to take our punishment. If you want to talk about love, that is true love! “By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us.” (1 John 3:16a)
Yes, you have a free will and you can go and marry whoever you chose to marry, but know that every deed we do will one day be judged by God and that everything we do has consequences connected to it.
Look what Scripture says, “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is man’s all. 14 For God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.” (Ecclesiastes 12:13,14)
This is great to keep the Law or Ten Commandments, but as you might know, no one can do this perfectly except Jesus Christ and that is why He had to die in our place. Here is what St. Paul, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, had to say to us in Roman 3:19-26.
“Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. 20 Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
“21 But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, 22 even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe.
“For there is no difference; 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, 26 to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
“So now all a person has to do is admit they have broken the laws of God and are not perfect as you said. They need to repent of their sin and ask God’s forgiveness. If we do this He will save us as His Word says in Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Click here to study salvation more from the book of Romans.)
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” (John 3:16-17)
Now I have not given you my word, but God’s Word. You have a choice to make. You can say I don’t believe it, then that is your choice. Or you can say, God be merciful to me a sinner, I receive your Son Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.
“Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)
People may not like to hear it, but this is also what Jesus said of Himself. “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.'” (John 14:6)
This last statement of Jesus tells us there are not many ways to God, only one way, and that is through the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ which He gave on the cross for our salvation. What will your decision be?
In Christian love,
