U.S. funding of U.N. seeing its last days?
In a recent interview, Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz, who is an avowed liberal Democrat who supported President Barack Obama – said that he agrees that it is time for the United States to defund the U.N.
Gary Bauer of the Christians United for Israel Action Fund reminded Americans that in 15 days, President Barack Obama, Secretary of State John Kerry, and the entire crew of Left-wing ideologues will be out of office. The pro-Israel advocate is encouraged that President-elect Donald Trump has vowed that America’s relationship with Israel will change when he takes office.
“And I think it is a very credible possibility that the Trump administration – potentially with bi-partisan support in Congress – will cut back funding to the United Nations,” Bauer expressed. “I think the first thing that needs to be done is a review of various U.N. programs to see where the funding should be cut off.”
Bauer also maintains that he completely understands those who believe that the United States should completely exit from the U.N.
“When you see the United Nations passing multiple resolutions condemning Israel – and only [passing] a handful of resolutions dealing with any of the thugs, dictators or tyrants running rampant – that it raises serious questions about whether the institution is even worth one penny of American investment … unless it’s for humanitarian relief in various areas,” he reasoned.
Bauer indicated that perhaps the time has come for the United States and Israel to start a “Federation of Freedom,” with the membership limited to those nations that truly believe in the values of Western Civilization.
