Mike Pence hands outstretchedFriday’s annual “March for Life” will feature some well-known names within the pro-life movement – and reportedly will include the highest ranking government representative ever to speak at the rally on the National Mall.

Just one week after taking the oath of office, Vice President Mike Pence – an evangelical Christian – will speak before the thousands expected to attend the 44th Annual March for Life, according to The New York Times.

That report describes historic Pence’s appearance at the premier pro-life event as “a sign of the movement’s new and growing authority in a government now dominated by Republicans.”

The White House has yet to confirm, however, that Pence will be speaking.

Other Republican officials have spoken at past pro-life marches in the nation’s capital, but only remotely via telephone or video.

Speakers confirmed to speak include the senior counselor to President Donald Trump, Kellyanne Conway; three members of Congress – Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Rep. Mia Love (R-Utah), and Rep. Chris Smith (R-New Jersey); Baltimore Ravens tight end Benjamin Watson; Christian author and speaker Eric Metaxas; and Abby Johnson, a former director of a Planned Parenthood facility.
