CA law to protect baby killers, not innocent babies
Planned Parenthood is lobbying heavily for the bill that would assess criminal and civil penalties for anyone who reveals private videos or conversations of healthcare providers – even if it reveals criminal conduct.
Attorney Alexandra Snyder, who heads Life Legal Defense Foundation explained that the bill surfaced because of David Daleiden’s work through the Center for Medical Progress, which exposed the harvesting and sale of body parts from aborted babies.
“It’s narrow enough to really focus on the kind of work that he does, although it would encompass any type of really whistleblowing activity by healthcare provider, which, as a matter of public policy, we’ve always protected – especially in those areas that involves a risk to human life,” Snyder told OneNewsNow.
Daleiden is a citizen reporter who operated – based on the state and federal protections – for free speech and free press.
“I can’t say I’m perplexed by the legislature, but I am certainly disappointed that they would not have really evaluated the consequences of this bill and considered that it is really an unconstitutional regulation,” the pro-life lawyer added.
Snyder has no doubt that if the bill is passed and signed into law, someone will file a lawsuit on constitutional grounds.
