Bauer: Obama wants a ‘Jew-free’ Jerusalem
The supposed peace plan pushed this week by the Obama administration would kick Israelis from their own territory, says a longtime conservative activist.
Gary Bauer, whose support for the Jewish state stretches back decades, says he was outraged at President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry for their actions during the past week.
Days before Christmas, Obama ordered his administration to abstain from a UN Security Council resolution condemning Israel, assuring it would pass.
That action was followed by an hour-long lecture on Wednesday from Kerry, who condemned Palestinian terrorism but saved most of his criticism for the Israeli government. Kerry pressed Israel to accept a two-state solution for the Palestinians, suggesting at one point that Israel can’t remain as one state and maintain both its Jewish faith and democracy.
“The president and secretary of state have essentially said that Judea and Samaria, and East Jerusalem, must be Jew-free if there’s going to be peace,” Bauer tells OneNewsNow, echoing the warnings from others who say the plan would kick Jews from their own beloved Temple Mount.
Palestinians have stated clearly they want all Jews out if they are handed a Palestinian state, Bauer notes.
There is hope, he adds, that the incoming Trump administration, with support from Congress, will cut funding to the United Nations.
National security analyst Sebastian Gorka told Fox News on Thursday that Trump’s team has suggested they will punish the 10 countries who voted for the resolution.
