A back-stabbing disguised as diplomacy

Obama and Netayahu (new pic)A pro-Israel activist who says President Barack Obama has ambushed Israel is pointing out that other Democrats are condemning his actions, too.

Obama’s decision to abstain from voting on a United Nations resolution denouncing Israel “sets a very dangerous precedent,” says Laurie Cardoza-Moore, who leads the ministry Proclaiming Justice to the Nations.

The incoming Trump administration must now deal with the consequences, she says, adding that she hopes Trump responds by cutting U.S. funding to the UN.

On her congressional website, U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Florida) called the abstention “baffling and unacceptable,” and called the UN vote itself a “blatant attempt to internationalize this conflict, and perpetuate the UN’s atrocious and biased record against our only true and dependable ally in the Middle East, the state of Israel.”

UN anti-Israel voteCardoza-Moore points out that liberal law professor Alan Dershowitz, an Obama supporter, has criticized the President’s anti-Israel action, describing it as a stab in the back.

Dershowitz told Fox News on Monday (see video below) that Obama personally told him in the Oval Office that he would support Israel and have its back.

“I didn’t realize what he meant,” the professor recalled, “is that he would have its back to stab them in the back. And he just stabbed them in the back.”

Dershowitz went on to claim Obama is not telling the truth about the resolution when he claims the issue is settlements located deep in the West Bank.

The resolution also keeps Jews from praying at the Western Wall, keeps Jews from a nearby university and a hospital, and means they can’t live in the Jewish quarter, the professor further explained.

“Where they’ve lived for thousands of years,” he said.

Cardoza-Moore says she hopes that Trump moves forward with his plan to move the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

“To state clearly to the United Nations and the Islamic countries at the United Nations,” she says, “that we stand with Israel and we recognize that land as being part of their holy territory.”
