Pro-lifers canvassing in tight senate elections
The Susan B. Anthony List is sending teams into the field, hoping to find young and Hispanic pro-life Democrats to talk about what the Mallory Quigley calls the extreme pro-abortion stance of the Democrat Party.
“The platform ratified in Philadelphia by the Democrats calls, for the first time, for the repeal of the Hyde Amendment,” she points out.
The Hyde Amendment prevents taxpayers’ dollars from paying for abortions under the Medicaid program but the Democrats, Quigley says, have pledged to repeal it under a President Hillary Clinton.
The canvassers are also putting in a good word for pro-life senators in tight re-election campaigns. Those senators are Marco Rubio, Richard Burr, and Rob Portman.
In many cases, Quigley says, the pro-life views of Millennials and Hispanics are strong enough to make a difference on Election Day.
