Christians in Nigeria dying for attention
The attack in Kaduna state was committed by Fulani militants, a radical Muslim group that has killed almost 1,000 Christians since 2013. The most recent attack occurred in four predominantly Christian villages.
Sara Solomon, regional manager for Africa at International Christian Concern, says ICC is worried about the Christians and the rise in violence.
“It’s definitely gotten very serious and they’re not getting any kind of protection,” she warns. “It seems that they’re left to fend for themselves.”
The government is not doing enough to stop the attacks, Solomon tells OneNewsNow. So far there is only talk from Nigeria’s government about action, she says, but there has yet to be a “serious tone” about fighting back.
The government reacted the same way over Boko Haram, the radical Islamic terrorist group, she says, until there was international pressure to take action.
