Pastor denounces ‘prayers’ for Planned Parenthood
Black pastors joined other religious leaders to attend a recent “blessing” ceremony for a Washington, D.C.-based Planned Parenthood clinic.
Clenard Childress, a pro-life activist who pastors a Baptist Church in New Jersey, calls that behavior “despicable” and a “disgrace.” He says pastors have ignored their God-given calling to serve and to protect children.
“And then to collaborate with the leading killer of African-Americans,” he complains.

Black women disproportionately account for most of the clients at Planned Parenthood abortion clinics yet black clergy were among the 20 faith leaders who attended the Jan. 10 event organized by the pro-abortion Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice.
Christian pastors, a rabbi, Hindu priests, and an imam were among the religions represented.
“God let your spirit rest upon these caregivers, who serve as instruments of your hands,” the rabbi prayed at the event, news website The Blaze reported.
Childress says it’s an abomination and the pastors need to reconsider their call to Christ. He adds that First Timothy 4:1 describes them accurately.
“Now the spirit speaks expressly that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, “says the pastor, “giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their conscience seared with a hot iron.”
