Are parents really OK with Hoosier State propaganda?
A teacher at Lincoln Junior High School showed students a video on sexual orientation entitled, “LGBTQ: Understanding sexual orientation and gender identities.”
Lincoln is part of the Plymouth school district in Marshall County.
The incident was picked up by Todd Starnes of Fox News Radio, who reported in a March 7 story the school district superintendent defended the lesson.
It wasn’t part of the school curriculum but meets a “national standard” for eighth graders, Dan Tyree reportedly told Starnes via email.
Questions the students were expected to answer included naming two ways to support the “LGBTQ community” and define the term “coming out.”
Linda Harvey of Mission America says she suspects the first-year teacher didn’t second-guess the lesson because she herself was indoctrinated as a young student.
“They have been so thoroughly convinced that any objection to homosexuality is rooted in hate that they become mindless robots,” Harvey says.
The classroom included 12-year-old students and Harvey says students that young “absorb” what they’re told because they trust what the teacher is teaching them.
The superintendent told Starnes that not one parent had complained but Starnes was told by the Indiana Liberty Coalition that angry parents contacted that organization after reviewing the materials.
