The San Diego Unified School District has announced a multi-year plan to address “Islamaphobia” in its schools and accommodate Muslim holidays such as Ramadan, The Associated Press reported this week.

The wire service further explained:

Next school year, it will review materials on Muslim culture for libraries, provide resources to teachers and engage in partnerships with the Council on American Islamic Relations. Over several years, it plans to consider high school clubs that promote American Muslim culture, create “safe spaces” for students and train staff about Muslim culture.

The Associated Press story goes on state that the campaign is “aimed at stopping any negative comments about Islam,” and the plan is supported by the Council on American Islamic Relations, or CAIR.

Randy Thomasson of California-based Campaign for Children and Families says the school district’s plans are stunning in light of policies that punish public displays of Christianity.

California is a famously liberal state with far-left leaders in power, and conservative Christianity is predictably a chief target. California-based organizations such as the Pacific Justice Institute and California Family Council report frequently on fighting far-left initiatives in courtrooms and on the floor of the legislature.

OneNewsNow reported last year on a controversial bill introduced by a homosexual state senator – and yanked under pressure – that forced Christian colleges and universities to accommodate open homosexuals or face the loss of state scholarships.

Fact-checking website Snopes admitted in a 2015 analysis that a world history class in a California public school had glorified Islam’s world history and bashed Christianity.

After examining the seventh grade text book, Snopes admitted that Islamic history is “presented within the context of that belief system’s glory days of scholarship and expansion of trade, while the information about Christianity generally only appears against a backdrop of Christians harming their neighbors and attempting to quash science.”

In light of such incidents, Thomasson scoffs at San Diego schools for trumpeting a religion that clearly teaches its followers to force conversions of unbelieving infidels or kill them if they refuse.

“This government school district is promoting its religion of choice,” Thomasson warns. “This is not promoting Arab toleration but demanding acceptance of the Muslim religion.”
