A former Ohio high school football coach and current online Christian talk show host is planning to sue the National Football League for its Super Bowl LIV halftime show featuring controversial the “strip-club” routine of singers Jennifer Lopez and Shakira.

Dave Daubenmire, who is a pastor in central Ohio and host of Pass the Salt Ministries’ Coach Dave LIVE web show, is looking to take on the NFL, Fox and Pepsi in a lawsuit over what he calls a “crotch-grabbing” performance resembling what many considered a simulated public orgy on stage.

“I think we ought to go sit down in a courtroom and present this as evidence of how whoever is keeping me from getting into the kingdom of Heaven,” he expressed in a video.

Daubenmire considered the show a “soft pornographic” performance that perverted young innocent eyes expecting a football game – rather than a striptease.

“I turned on the TV to watch football, not to watch a pole dance,” Daubenmire told the Daily Caller. “They penetrated the sanctity of my home.”

He blamed the 50-year-old Lopez and 43-year-old Shakira for forcing sexual imagery on young boys and their unappreciative parents – who were not expecting such shocking content during the world’s most-watched sporting event.

“J-Lo is 50 – you go on a porn website, you’re not looking for 50-year-old women,” the minister added. “Young boys are being exposed to this.”

Daubenmire said instead of being worried about free speech rights, his concern lies with young children being adversely affected and over-sexualized by such graphic imagery.

“I’m not here to tell the NFL what they can put on, [and] I’m not here to tell anyone what they can watch, but they don’t have the right in the middle of a game to broadcast soft porn,” the pastor insisted.

He shared his discussion with an attorney and plans for suing the NFL for “$867 trillion.”

Disgusted and disgruntled

Daubenmire contended that such lewd imagery should be contained to rated-X sites and venues, and he is livid that such content was forced on football fans without any kind of heads-up.

“I was appalled at what I saw – what I thought was a porn show – at halftime during the Super Bowl,” the former football coach asserted, according to a local Fox8 station in Ohio. “My greatest complaint isn’t the halftime show itself. It’s the fact that the NFL gave no warning. Here we are watching a football game, next thing you know, a porn show breaks out.”

He said he is not trying to be the moral police, but rather just looking out for kids.

“However, it’s not about me, it’s about the innocent children – maybe there wasn’t a parent in the room to change the channel,” Daubenmire continued. “Put a warning up there, cautioning parents that some of the content you might see might not be suitable for young children. I personally resent the fact that they invaded the privacy of my home with stuff I would never look at it if I had a choice.”

Being in lawsuits defending biblical principles in not something new for Daubenmire, who was sued by the ACLU more than 20 years ago for praying with his high school football team. In 2016, he staged a protest over Target’s transgender bathroom policies in Ohio, according to the Newark Advocate.

Rev. Franklin Graham also chimed in about the raunchy Super Bowl halftime show and the message it sent.

“[J-Lo and Shakira’s lewd performance shows] young girls that sexual exploitation of women is okay,” Graham argued in the Charlotte Observer.
