Global Brain 5G network rolling out in 13 US cities in 2017
March 22, 2017
Verizon and AT&T have announced plans roll out 5G network trials in 13 cities throughout 2017
(VERO BEACH, FLA) Verizon Communications Inc. has announced that they will roll out fixed-line 5G trials in 11 U.S. cities in the first half of 2017. AT&T followed suit and announced that they will extend trial networks in two American metropolises.
The cities included in Verizon’s trial are: Ann Arbor, Atlanta, Bernardsville (NJ), Brockton (MA), Dallas, Denver, Houston, Miami, Sacramento, Seattle and Washington, D.C.
The two cities AT&T will be test piloting their network in are Austin and Indianapolis later in 2017.
According to Paul Ausick from 24/7 Wall St.com, the official goals of 5G networks are “much faster data-transfer speed and more reliable service.”
The Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) says these networks could deliver up to 100 gigabits per second (Gbps) to smart devices, fast enough to download an entire movie in high-definition in a mere second.
At the 2017 Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain, TRUNEWS host Rick Wiles was told by keynote speakers that the 5G network would be deployed through a constellation of low Earth orbit satellites, and would be act as the electronic nervous system for a artificially intelligent Global Brain.
Keynote speakers also said the 5G network would be used to achieve ubiquitous connectivity for all smart devices, also referred to as the “Internet-ofThings” (IoT).
On March 16th, OneWeb Satellites, a company present at the 2017 MWC, broke ground on a $85 million low Earth orbit satellite creation facility next to NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
