After WH visit, Bauer says Trump on target
Campaign for Working Families Chairman Gary Bauer joined several leaders of the Values Voter movement at the White House earlier this week in an all-day event. They interacted with top officials of the Trump administration to discuss a variety of critical issues.
Even though it was not on the official schedule, Bauer says he also spent a significant amount of time in the Oval Office with President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence.
“It would be inappropriate to get into the conversation with the president, but in the day-long meetings we had at the White House – and the White House complex – we had the opportunity to talk to multiple key individuals in the administration about a host of issues … from the sanctity of life to the effect on military morale and preparedness … from being used as a laboratory for social change – rather than used first and foremost for our national defense,” Bauer shared. “We had a wonderful opportunity to talk about Israel and the value of Judeo-Christian civilization.”
Bauer expressed that he is confident that the president is aware of the continued effort by Obama holdovers in the United States Defense Department, who are pushing their radical policies on service members.
“When we get into these issues related to the issues – related to the transgender controversy within the military and so forth – I’m confident that the president is regularly hearing from his advisors and the vice president what the perspective is of millions of those [who] voted for him.”
