Shrugging off sin at a Catholic university
The Jesuit school has promoted Julie Orio to vice-provost of student life.
Adam Cassandra of the Cardinal Newman Society tells OneNewsNow the school is quite open about Orio.
“In their own press release, the University of San Francisco put it out there that this woman they hired was actively involved in a clinic that commits medical abortions and also provides birth control and prescriptions for Plan B,” he says.
San Francisco is grossly famous for its permissive culture, and the Jesuit university of 10,000 students is located on 55 acres in the city.
At the university, there is also a gender and sexuality center that encourages students to explore their own sexuality.
Orio will also be in charge of the gender-neutral housing program.
“The description on that is even more explicit about promoting gender ideology and even says one of the community standards for the program is the recognition that human beings are not necessarily male or female as ascribed by their assigned gender at birth,” he says. “That’s a direct quote.”
All of that is contrary to Catholic doctrine and to scripture.
Cardinal Newman has sought an explanation from the school to no avail. But Cassandra adds that students and parents footing the bill for their child’s education are waiting for answers.
